Quick Java Script, Gallery Tutorial Request?

Am after putting together a quick Java image gallery, the only one i kind find similar to what i want is here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/photo_galleries/4476228.stm) Now i'm not even sure if that is Java script gallery or not?!

Have looked around at Dynamic Drive (http://www.dynamicdrive.com) but couldnt find anything.

Anyone know of any tutorial sites for this type of gallery?

I can tell you that the BBC site does use JavaScript.
