I bought one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bluetooth-USB-Dongle-Wireless-V1-2-100M-5-Years-Wty_W0QQitemZ5834692887QQcategoryZ44999QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

and am having problems getting it to talk to my Nokia 6800. Having istalled the software for the dongle it can see the phone, but I can't get them to actually talk to each other.

If anyone can talk me through the process of getting them to communicate I would greatly appreciate it.

What is it that you want to do? You can download PC Suite for free from Nokia's web site, I use it with my 6230i. If you just want to send a file to the phone try right-clicking it and select 'send to\bluetooth device'.

I'm sure someone here will be able to help you if you provide a bit more info. :)

I just want to be able to syncronise, transfer files etc. using blue tooth rather than the cable.

On the Nokia Software you should have a new Icon down by your Clock. Double click on this icon and there should be an option for Manage Connections.

Select Manage connections and then Bluetooth Connection, the available connections should be listed.

The Nokia software only supports certain Bluetooth Driver Stacks these are:

IVT BlueSoleil Bluetooth stack for Windows XP/2000 (driver version 1.6.1 with release version 05222 or newer must be used)
Microsoft Windows XP Bluetooth
Toshiba Bluetooth 3.0x
WIDCOMM Bluetooth for Windows 1.4 and 3.0
