Oh lordie, here we go. I shall probably get flamed to death for this, but here's a wry - but hopefully affectionate - alternative thread to the eulogies flowing elsewhere.
Tonight's TV schedule:
BBC1 - 7:00pm - "Georgie, You Were The Best"
We take a look at the ups - and downs - of legendary legend George Best in this revealing nineteen hour documentary.
BBC2 - 7:15pm - "The Best Of Best"
Settle down now and watch Best's best goals. All the most cracking shots in his career in this excellent show, which we compiled about fifteen years ago in readiness for his death and are only now getting the chance to show.
ITV - 8:00pm - "Bestie - Never Second Best"
Come on lads, grab a six pack and celebrate the life of legend George Best, who was a legendary wizard of the football pitch. See all his blonde loves and some of his football and that. Continues after News At Ten, a special three hour extended edition to celebrate the life of the legend George Best.
Channel 4 - 9:00pm - "Best - The Booze Got The Best of Me"
George Best was a legendary alcoholic. We got undercover reporter Donal McLint to chart the alcoholic lows of drinker and sometime footballer George Best. Follow Donal as he traipses around the dark drinking holes of London's West End and ends up on the streets with no money for a taxi home. Featuring lots of interviews with people whose lives have been destroyed by alcohol, this documentary is showing after the 9pm watershed as it features social commentary and scenes of people getting up to all sorts of pint-sized pranks.
