Whilst a date has not yet been confirmed, Criterion have announced the specs for their forthcoming edition of Akira Kurosawa's Rashomon.
Restored 1:33:1 video and Dolby 1.0 sound will be joined by an optional English dub and a new English subtitle translation. Extras will be an audio commentary from Japanese film historian Donald Richie, a video introduction by Robert Altman, excerpts from The World of Kazuo Miyagawa (a documentary film about Rashomon’s cinematographer), reprints of the Rashomon source stories, an excerpt from Akira Kurosawa's book "Something Like An Autobiography" and the theatrical trailer. Phew.
