I am currently using one lead from a pair of phono leads to connect the co-axial output of my DVD players to my DD amp. Will buying a proper co-axial lead make any real difference to the sound quality (which is currently excellent)?

my mate was using a composite video phono (75ohm same as a digital coax) and he swapped it for a proper coaxial and he said there was a massive diiffernce. I haven't heard it so can't comment.

You should be using the video phono rather than audio anyway as they're both 75ohm, only difference is the shielding apparently. swap it for a proper coax (beyonghifi.net do one for a fiver). Don't spend too much on it though, the diff in quality is v. minimal
