i can only seem to find it 2 sided, does that mean i have to flip the disc over half way through? If so what the hell is the point, is it because it was made before dual layer?
is there an other version?
btw is it just me or are have tarantino movies got really bad dvds?
Reservoir Dogs is only 2.0, region 2 pulp fiction has no extras while region 1 does not have a 5.1 soundtrack!
any info on JB would be great

There's a 1 sided SE on r4, I think. And a decent CE version ofPulp Fiction on r4.

yep - I have the R4's of both PF and JB and both are very good. No flippers for JB, although perhaps we are still waiting for a definitive version of PF!

Re: Reservoir Dogs - don't panic about the DD2.0 soundtrack. Of course, the vast majority of the movie is dialogue based so a full surround mix is not too important. The R2 is anamorphic whereas the R1 does have a full 5.1 s/track but is non-anamorphic. The better quality piccie on the R2 is more important on this occasion that the soundtrack.

I'm pretty sure i remember people saying that the danish r2 release was single sided ?? You can get it quite cheaply from places like www.dvdoo.dk (think that's the right url ??)

You may want to bear in mind that R1 special editions of "Reservoir Dogs", "Pulp Fiction" & "Jackie Brown" are all due to be released during 2002 ;) .

You can buy Region 4 DVDs at:

EzyDVD (http://www.ezydvd.com.au)
DeVoteD (http://www.devoted.com.au)
DVD Crave (http://www.dvdcrave.com)
Family Box Office (http://www.fbo.com.au)

I've used EzyDVD (http://www.ezydvd.com.au) about six times. Good service... you will get your DVDs within about four or five days all the way from Australia!

DeVoteD (http://www.devoted.com.au) are also quite good as well.

Not used the other two though. I am currently waiting for a DVD from EzyDVD (http://www.ezydvd.com.au).

I just got my bro-in-law JB for xmas along with Snatch (HMV bogof). I was looking at the back cover a couple of days ago and noticed JB was a flipper :(
If I had noticed in the shop I would have stayed well away :(

Picture quality of the R$ Jackie Brown is a bit iffy - I'd wait for the special editions next year.

Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs are confirmed (http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=89464), but not sure about JB.

I think Criterion were originally going to do one or some of these, but not any more.

Thankfully on the schedule is... Goodfellas SE :D (at last, get rid of that damn non-anamorphic, flipper snapper - well no snapper in R4 hopefully).

Just to confuse things....

....Didn't Disney re-release all their back catalog titles that used to be flippers as single sided discs recently?

Some have been delayed until unknown date in 2002 incl
Pulp Fiction (hopefully same as Aus when arrives), Leon (hopefully uncut longer international version) and Jackie Brown
ie the ones you were asking about above
