My 33" Toshiba 4:3 set is slowly dying after 6 years of faithfull service.I have come home from work to find a black translucent blob (approx 3" in diameter) at the top/centre of the screen. :( I have also noticed a slight green tinge to the picture for a few months now as well.
I would be looking for a widescreen set and here the dilemma begins.Should I buy a 36" tube set OR a 40" and above rear projection set ?I would like the extra size a rear projection gives but 3 things concern me..
1)Screen burn.We watch SKY a lot and their continuous use of logo's worries me that they might ruin the set after so long.
2)Picture quality.Don't want a TV with "hot spots" and be forced to sit in one particular place to get a decent picture.
3)I have 2 small kids (3 and 2) and they are forever putting fingers on the TV screen. This is not too bad at the moment as I just wipe the glass clean with a damp cloth but how will the flimsier rear projection screens stand up?

ANY advice is very welcome.
Budget is not set yet !!!
