Please use this thread to talk about the stores you have ordered from and the fact that you can't get one now until the year 2010.

Then we can leave the 360 thread in the gaming forum to chat about the console, its leads, no 60fps on PGR3 and whatever else takes our fancy :)

Ordered mine in September at my local PC World and was the first to order, went in last night just to check how many they are getting in etc. They told me that they stopped taking pre-orders as they didn't know how many they were getting in but have since been told that everyone who pre-ordered with them WILL be getting one on the day of release in the order that they ordered.

They checked the list and confirmed that I was first to do so!! Happy days! :)

OK, I have the following on order (I need 2):

1. Amazon (Pro Bundle) ordered 17th Aug. But I then changed my card to be used to pay and I now have a predicted date of Feb 2006! Not happy and I only get generic responses to all my questions!

2. Dixons (Pro Bundle) ordered 24th Oct. Used a £25 off voucher. No indication of when I will get this. However, a previous message on the website said any orders after the 27th were not guranteed on launch day.

3. Wooloworths (Pro Bundle) ordered 15th Nov. No indication of when I will receive it but they keep on taking them off the website. Do they know an allocation and are only taking pre-orders up to that point. I hope so.

4. Gamestation (Core Pack) ordered 16th Nov. Put £20 down and was told that I was guaranteed it on the 2nd Dec.

So, thats mine. At the moment the only thing I am semi sure about is the core pack I ordered yesterday.

Ive got the "Items will be with you on or before the 24th December" on my Amazon account & I pre-ordered on the 18/8.

Im hoping this isnt going to mean that the release allocation is already taken!

Pre-ordered on the 19th August with Gameplay. They have been suspiciously quiet of late and I'm starting to get edgy.

I'm holding off ordering any games or accessories till I know for sure if I'm getting it on release day.

Preordered with Amazon a while back, can't remember when but have got a 1-2 December delivery date currently showing for the full monty plus another controller and PGR3.

Think thousands of people have probably done what jonpeat has and suppliers will suddenly find orders cancelled and have stock, or you'll get two or three turn up on launch day then have to ebay them. I suppose a win win for customers because you can get your money back on ebay.

Good luck to all though, after having a play in Comet yesterday on the lovely Samsung screen, think that might be the next addition for playing during the day when I don't want to play 8ft wide.

Can't believe Chris Moyles dropped his this morning on the radio, only to find it was a dummy.

Having spoken to gameplay, you should receive an email by the end of the week confirming you have got a launch day 360.

I pre-ordered mine on the 17th August, so i'm quietly confident that i'll get one.

Preordered mine instore at Game 9am on the 19th Aug. 14th on the list. Keep being told that they are able to honour all of the £20 deposit pre-orders. My mate who works there is 101 on the list and is still confident he'll get one.

But until I'm told there's a box in the shop with my name on it, I plan to remain on stress-factor 9 because I'm a gadget mad muppet who is as excited as a 6 year old at christmas. I'll be so relieved when it's all done and dusted and I can return to behaving like a grown man! Well almost.

I ordered online from Game on 17th Aug (although didn't get the confirmation email until the 18th) and it appears I won't be getting a console on launch day. It seems they are going to satisfy instore preorders before satisfying all of the online preorders regardless of when that person ordered

From Game CS - this only applies to online pre-orders though so if you ordered instore you should still be ok - it's online online pre-order people that are being stiffed.

Ok. i've just spoken to anita at Game CS, and if you have'nt had your confirmation email from game online, you wont be getting one on launch day!

Apparently allocation and been split between stores and online. But allocation is not based on when you ordered. So you could have ordered from a store yesterday and get one, ordered on the 18th August online and not get one.

I was also told that they had approximately 7000 orders for the 17th August!! So most if not all of their allocation has gone on the first day of preordering alone ......

My face now looks like this:

Why couldn't Game have told me this back on the 17th of August when I ordered online? I would've gladly walked into a branch of Game and put £20 down if they'd said it would give me precedence over online orders. What's worse is that they sent me an email a few months back saying that, "if you placed your order on the 17th you'll definitely get a machine". I could've pre-ordered from a number of other places, such as Woolworths recently, if I'd have known my pre-order was no good.

Dunno. I'm just gonna wait - not chasing around trying to get one.

Keeping my preorder open with Gameplay just because I (should) be further up the queue, but they have irked me by just handing off responsibility to Microsoft, so if I can get one from somewhere else I would dearly like to. I understand that there was probably nothing they could do, but I always think it's unprofessional of a supplier to blame their supplier to the customer.

I ordered from them, not Microsoft and they've failed to secure enough stock to meet their commitments. If they weren't a hundred per cent sure they shouldn't have guaranteed anything to anyone IMO.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for your e-mail.

We are not able to guarantee delivery dates for any of our products.
However, we will always do our best to despatch items in time for delivery on the day of release.

Please be aware that there are a number of areas outside our control that
may mean items are despatched in time but do not arrive on the specified day (stock not available from the manufactures / local postal / transport issues etc).

Please do not 'wait in' or take time off work, unless you accept that these delivery times are estimated only and that there is a possibility that your item may not be with on that date. As I mentioned, we will certainly do our utmost to ensure that this item is delivered on the day of release.

If we are unable to bill your credit card, there may be a delay in despatching, we will attempt to take payment around 5 days before the despatch is due (on this item), in order to give you time to respond any notification of failure.

Will do our best to contact you if we are made aware of any issues with stock availability prior to launch. We are unable to provide any further information on availability at this time.

If you require any further assistance please contact us.

Regards,

Eileen McLaughlin

Pre-ordered from PCWorld online in September when they first started doing pre-orders.

I've got two preorders - one with Amazon which says delivery estimate 29th / 30th November and "*order will def be recived by 24/12" above it - and one with Play who sent a generic may not get one at launch e-mail.

I dont even want one now since i decided to splash out on a new PC but may see if I do get one, try it out and then sell it.

Well I ordered with toys r us and they've told me that all the people who pre-ordered off their site will get one on release day and that included me having to change my credit card details with them for the order on Monday.

They even rang me up to get the new credit card details off me, I was very impressed to say the least :)

Although my heart did pound a little bit more when he said he'd have to cancel my original order and make a new one

I read on their forum that the last three digits of your order number tell you your place in the queue... That wasn't someone official who said it, just someone on there...

My guess is they got somewhere around a whopping 200 in total but they don't seem to be saying...

I wouldn't mind so much if they would stop blaming everyone else and took some responsibility. Hate it when companies do that.

If thats the case it makes me around position 235 in the queue.

I think the problem is that it's their parent company thats to blame. If the charts in the other thread are correct. I guess its dangerous to finger the higher ups in an email to customers.

Whats more annoying is they have probably known for a while. I think the lesson learned is that its best not to preorder items in short supply from an online store which has a high street presence.

Popped into my local Game where I have a pre-order and asked the manager in there about what was going on.
He claims that head office now know how many consoles they are getting, but have not told the stores how many they will be getting yet. Head Office want a fair share of consoles accross the stores.
He then asked me what number I was, so I told him that I was 27 in the list. He said that I would definately be getting one, but anyone over 40 in the queue might not be so cut and dry.
But can never tell with the people in the shops...

My sales order final digits are in the 800s so maybe its those ones. I'd guess they give a rough indication since orders I've done for other stuff later have higher digits but it won't be exact since it will include orders for non 360 stuff too.

"Dear Gameplay Customer,

Due to huge demand for the Xbox 360 Console and low stock allocation into the UK we will not be able to fulfil your order for the Xbox 360 Premium Pack for release date.

We recommend that you still keep your pre order with us so you remain in the queue for the next allocation of stock. Your card will not be charged until we despatch your order.

Currently we do not know when the next allocation of consoles will be sent from Microsoft.

We would like to apologise for this situation but unfortunately we are at the whim of Microsoft’s stock levels. We will secure stock as soon as it becomes available in the UK.

If you have any further queries please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Which digits are we talking about? The web order number or the sales order.

Just remembered (well thunderbird did when I typed in gameplay to the search box) I cancelled my inital order for the 360 from the 18th and reordered it on the 19th so I could use the affiliate link (didn't realist stock would be so bad at the time).

Hi. Unfortunatley we are not able to guarantee that you will recieve this on the release date. However once it is released it will be delivered to you within 7 working days of despatch.

Sheesh! ... They got a cheek to charge over £6 for delivery & can only guarantee 7 working days? ... That's pathetic! ... Quite surprising as various DVDs that i've purchased from them in the past have arrived swiftly.

Aint too bothered if I dont get it via Woolies for launch-date. It was just an impulse buy when they appeared online this week. Will probably cancel & await news of hopefully better game releases in the new year.

Update for those who ordered from woolies in the last couple of days.

Thats wierd...I got the following message:

We are not able to guarantee delivery dates for any of our products. However, we will always do our best to despatch items in time for delivery on the day of release. Please be aware that there are a number of areas outside our control that may mean items are despatched in time but do not arrive on the specified day (stock not available from the manufactures / local postal / transport issues etc). Please do not ‘wait in’ or take time off work, unless you accept that these delivery times are estimated only and that there is a possibility that your item may not be with on that date. As I mentioned, we will certainly do our utmost to ensure that this item is delivered on the day of release. PLEASE NOTE: If we are unable to bill your credit card, there may be a delay in despatching, we will attempt to take payment around 5 days before the despatch is due (on this item), in order to give you time to respond any notification of failure. Will do our best to contact you if we are made aware of any issues with stock availability prior to launch. We are unable to provide any further information on availability at this time.

I think Woolies are just covering their backsides - on the AVforums is a guy who sat with Woolworths manager while they checked stock levels. Their online system only allows orders for confirmed stock and the reason new units keep becoming available is when store allocation is returned. As most Woolworths stores didn't offer any pre-order then their allocation keeps coming back to become available online as and when the person in charge of stock releases it. If you keep refreshing the page on their website you may get lucky as some more were available about 15mins ago - but you have to be quick. They are pretty sure of getting it to you on launch day but they don't want to guarantee it (which I can understand...)

I think fortunately for them video gamers tend not to hold a grudge for long. If the launch lineup is as uninspiring as it seems outside the 3 games I was interested in then having people who don't read online reviews buying initial games may not be such a bad thing.

If I don't get one at launch or soon after I'll probably blow the 400 quid I'd have spent on 360 stuff on something else and buy as soon as the 1st price drop happens.

I'm more irritated with Gameplay than I am Microsoft... They've been mealy mouthed and backtracked and changed their story which is really not on - if they'd said 'sorry, we screwed up' I would have said fair enough, but to have a cutoff date and try to claim now that they weren't saying people who ordered before it were guaranteed is weak IMO.

I mentioned my friend who'd been on the online help earlier - she sent me the transcript. Not gonna post the whole thing but this part amused me... (took the guy's name out).

#########

"Gameplay Goon: like i say we did not give guarantees on any orders, as we knew we have no solid info

Diane: I suggest Gameplay change their line of answers at the very least because this whole 'didn't guarantee anyone anything' line is making you look like liars. My son is going to be so upset…

Gameplay Goon: there is nothing we can do to affect microsofts decisions sorry

Diane: I don't care about Microsoft - I ordered from Gameplay before GAMEPLAY's cutoff date - which meant I didn't attempt to get a console from anywhere else

Gameplay Goon: i am very sorry and understand your frustration, but there is nothing we can practically do, because we simply aren't being given enough stock. when microsoft advised us to stop guaranteeing orders on that date, they did not give stock figures at the same time

Diane: Wait... So you WERE guaranteeing orders up to a certain date then?

Gameplay Goon: no, we never gave a guarantee

Diane: You just said "When Microsoft advised us to stop guaranteeing orders'?

Gameplay Goon: yes, i should have phrased that better. my apolgies.

Diane: I think that you phrased it truthfully that time and just forgot to stick to the new excuse that's just been dreamed up... Whatever way you look at it having a cutoff date is a guarantee for anyone who ordered before it in any reasonable person's eyes."

According to the Gameplay forums it says somewhere on Game.net's site that they allocated 400 to online orders for Game.net (so assume Gameplay got less, being the red-headed stepchild).

So that sounds like the Game group got the lion's share of the UK allocation (according to Retronana's spreadsheet) and stuck two fingers up to those who ordered online so that they could try and sell scart leads instore...

Once again:

This is precisely it, and their customer service has been appalling. My local Game was closed for a re-fit when they went on pre-order, so I ordered online instead of in store. Should have just gone in when they re-opened and I'd have been fine.

On with Bobby Peru at the moment, about to go absolutely mental at him. I got told for months that because I was days ahead of the cut off, I would get one fine. Now it's MS fault for cutting allocation.

Sure, Gameplay can't help MS not giving them stock. But they CAN help telling me I will get one when they knew damn well it wasn't confirmed. Glad I put a Woolies order in now although only part-glad as they've been dodgy in the past with the handle on the truth.

Anyway, some titbits:
Matt: How many did you get then?
Bobby Peru: under a thousand

Matt: But on my order account it says estimate delivery is the launch day
Bobby Peru: yes, al;l of them say that because the launch date is set. soon as microsoft have a date for more sotck taht will change
Matt: Surely it is better to put it as unconfirmed then?
Bobby Peru: we can't set it to that sorry

Matt: That's **** isn't it. Can you at least tell me whereabouts I am in the queue? As it says that I will remain in the queue if I keep my preorder.
Bobby Peru: i can't tell you an exact place sorry, and we're not sure how many will be in the next batch anyhow
Matt: Why, is it a magic queue?

I have no problem with there being a shortage really, and I can deal with not getting one at launch - like I said, my nark is with Gameplay trying to dissolve themselves of any responsibility.

I hate companies that apologise swiftly followed by 'but it's not our fault, honest! It was them! It was them! Burn them! Love us!'.

Screw that.

Microsoft didn't make them come up with that cutoff date, and now to deny that having that date didn't mean anyone in before it should assume they were safe is manouevering that would make Alistair Campbell blush.

'We cannot guarantee orders after a certain date' MUST mean that orders before it can be guaranteed? Surely? Otherwise the whole English language falls apart

And to repeatedly deny the meaning of that phrase says to me that they view their (ex) customers as idiots who can just be fobbed off.

PS - John, don't take too much notice of the Gameplay forums - they delete almost everything negative about the company on there. I was reading it when the news broke and they were deleting posts faster than Harsin with PMS ;)

I was also told that there would be bundle deal for preorders and that the £700 deal was just for those who had hadnt preordered. Looks like they have kept a few back to sell as rip off bundles. He was quick to note that i was under no obligation to buy anything else.

I'm not sure I want to do it all again... I (and not wishing to **** on anyone's chips) don't personally think Woolworths will send any of these late in the day orders - I really hope they do for all you lot who are hanging your hat on them, but I can't be arsed going back into 'will I, won't I get one' mode again.

I've not cancelled my Gameplay console order so I'll wait for that (satisfied that they won't make much profit on it) - I've cancelled my games preorders though, and told them in no uncertain terms that they can go **** themselves for my custom in the future

I did read (before the Gameplay letdown) that this shortage is being in part stage managed by Microsoft to create a buzz (which, let's face it, is working!) - they want it to be sold out through Christmas, but also want people buying it for obvious reasons, so they're drip feeding the stock through at levels that won't satisfy demand. Be stunned if a 19th August order with Gameplay isn't fulfilled well before Chrimbo. They want it to be hard to find but they still want everyone to be able to find it if they try I think.

Could be wrong though, but if I am then at least I still have my self respect ;)

Sure it didn't sy that last week????

The orders say processing as soon as you place them. I have orders for Oblivion and Dead Rising (both out next yr) that say "processing".

Despite the £28 odd saving,I cancelled my order with Asda for the machine as I haven't got any faith in a launch day delivery from them.

Unless they've changed it again, it doesn't sound anything of the sort!

"We hope to be able to fulfil all preorders before Christmas" & "there may be small deliveries of stock across December." backs up the stories that MS plan to dripfeed stock to retail on a weekly basis surely?

After reading that I'm even more confident we'll all be sorted before Chrimbo.

The pre-xmas "hope" is only for instore pre-orders though.

Says this for online:

Online: Stock will be very limited and only a proportion of online preorders will receive their console at launch. We can no longer accept new preorders. We will do our best to secure more stock and these will be offered to preorder customers first.

Just been on to Game CS to cancel everything I'd pre-ordered except the console, so I won't get games I can't play if I don't get one at launch.

The woman on the other end said they were still waiting for info, and that e-mails would be sent out in the next 2 or 3 days to inform people of whats going on. She may have been lying, or she may actually be telling the truth, as when I rang a few days ago to cancel my RGB Scart I was told they didn't have info etc., even though people had started getting confirmation emails.

She also mentioned that someone had rang yesterday, mentioned what other people had said on some forums, and got a bit irate over it. She blamed this for a lot of the confusion etc.

We can only wait and see I guess, personally there are only two games I want now, as they've destroyed FIFA by cutting out....most of it, and so I'm not as bothered about getting one early, but there may still be hope yet.

Looks like retailers are getting their allocation info now, I'm not getting mine for launch day.

I am writing regarding the above item, which you have pre-ordered with
us here
at sendit.com.

We have received information regarding our allocation for launch day
(2nd
December). Sadly, it seems unlikely that we will be able to fulfill
your order
to reach you on this date. However, we will be receiving three further
allocations from Microsoft before Christmas. Whilst we do not want to
100 per
cent guarantee delivery before Christmas, due to the nature of the
distribution of this item, the chances are still good that this will be
with
you during the course of December.

We will take no payment from you until just before the goods ship. You
can
cancel at any point until your order status changes to "being packed"
(as the
item will be bagged up ready to go at this stage) but do be aware that
if you
cancel and reorder, you would go to the back of the queue.

It should be stressed that we are doing all we can to fulfill the
product for
launch day, but we wanted you to be aware that this may not now happen.
We
are sorry for any disappointment caused, but would advise that (from
previous
experience with similar products) the best thing is to stay in the
queue
unless you have managed to obtain the item elsewhere.

If you need any further help or information, let me know.

I went on Gameplay's help after Nicola's post - was reasonable this time cos I wanted info

Basically the guy there seemed taken aback by Sendit's info. At first he accused them of making it up but then when I copied and pasted the first paragraph he seemed to take it more seriously and actually emailed it on to someone to get them to check what was going on. He said they'll be contacting MS about it to find out why they haven't had any info

Bad news (kind of - he, and indeed Gameplay, don't seem too clued up still about what's happening) is that he said he didn't think there would be anymore stock until after Christmas. Although he did stress that he was just guessing.

Annoying that they're STILL refusing to accept any responsibility - I did get him to admit the wording of the whole 'cutoff date' thing was poor and misleading though.

Oh, one other thing. I started off by asking him when I would get my Xbox and he took my postcode and checked the list. He said I was down as '2nd allocation', so assuming he's right then orders up to 4pm on the 19th August at Gameplay (which is the time on my email) should be good for the next batch... Whenever that may be :?:

Edit: Oh, and he did say Gameplay 'will be top of the list once the allocations are made' so he couldn't see why Sendit will know before them. Personally I think Gameplay are coming off as pretty unprofessional over this. I always thought they were a good company before...

Dunno mate - hopefully Retronana will clarify when he sees this, he seems to be the most clued up when it comes to how all this works...

Well I'm a bit suppriesed how this has panned out on the Gameplay pre order issues, it is part of Game Group PLC and therefore I did think the allocation would be part of the overall Game figure...

I begining to think this is maybe not the case....

There maybe some internal wranglings that I'm not aware of, but I recently supplied some UMD's that were sold via Gameplay but the buying was done by Game....

Now without wishing to start a bun fight, If I was Game I'd be starting to look at the 360 allocation issues with slight worry and therefore look to minimise the PR damage to the group.

If Game get loads of crap PR due to lack of stock for sale day 1 [picture disapointed child of Chav standing outside local Game store on front page of the local paper] it will do untold damage PR wise, although is you P off a couple of hundred customers on a website its less likely to be much of an uproar in the press...

I'd agree. The press would make much more of a fuss if it turned out that a lot of game stores never even saw a 360 on launch day than a couple of thousand internet users not getting theirs.

I'm still not convinced casual gamers buy that many games though (However, I imagine they are the primary consumer of most average games). After the trouble with the preorders how many people will just stick to ordering from people like Amazon and Play instead.

Just noticed I can't actually cancel via the website (not obviously anyway). Guess you phone them up and give them abuse for both the preorder fiasco and having a poorly designed website (not that the person you speak to has anything to do with it).

Going to have to do this at some point since there are game preorders attached to my account that they helpfully split off from the inital order of 360 + games.

I know I said I wouldn't but I think I might pop to the two Asda's (Asdii?) near me around 11.30pm on the 1st

One of them is huge, open 24 hours but also a bit out of the way so I think I may get lucky there...

Edit: Actually there are three 24 hour Asda stores within three miles it seems...

You so better steer clear of ASDA near the trafford center!!!

you can chance it at the others

and remember there is always middlebrook :D

Sorry, I may be a bit slow here but why is everyone sticking to Asda? Wont the usual Tesco's & Sainsbury be allocated as many?

Ive pre-ordered from Amazon and am itching to find out their stock situation.. I'd be gutted if I missed out.

Going to keep an eye on Ebuyer around launch time as well - reckon they might have some stock as well.

No, I'm not going to the Trafford Centre... I called them and they said they weren't getting any stock at all so there's no point...

Mate of min ordered in-store at Game on the 19/8 with a £20 deposit. Is he guaranteed one??

His serial number on the ticket is 1006.

Yes, apparently. Certainly before Christmas.

Bah my Woolies order has also changed to "Back Order". I asked the guy what this meant and he said it was standard for preorders but couldn't confirm if I would get one as they don't even know the launch date yet.

That fills me with confidence then. Asda opens at 8.30am round here, I'll be there from 6 it seems then.

How do we know that "Back Order" is a bad thing?

Mine went from "Processing" to "Back Order" and hasn't moved since.

It's sounds right to me. They aren't shipping yet and should surely stay on Back Order until they are ready to ship.

We don't, the fact that he said that they can't guarantee anythin because they don't know the launch date is a bad thing.

I can't believe I am feeling so dissapointed at not being guaranteed a machine. It's a games device for christ sake  I am so lame :(

I know that we were supposed to be receiving updated info. on store allocations for 360 hardware today (and software tomorrow). I was off today so not sure how many we're getting...hopefully enough for me and my co-worker (4th and 1st respectively to pre-order).

OK, spoke to a few buyers today and ran my figures passed both of them, both wouldn't confirm there allocations, but were prepared to pass on comments on a competitors allocation...bless em !

Both agreed the pencentage shares are about right, the HMV was slightly too low and the Virgin was slightly too high...but overall my figures were pretty good.

Remember with market share, the only figures that are made public is the overall 100% sales and therefore retail chain A knows how many they have sold and they get the percentage from there...they can work out what the rest of the market sold and they may get a breakdown of what type of store group the sales broke down to, Specialist, Specialist Chain, Generalist, Supermakets, and Web.

If MS have loads of stock waiting to be dumped into the UK market, then they are not telling retailers about it....the "Hype" rumour is just BS to be honest...its a real shortage IMHO

UPDATE 18th November 2005

I understand that the split on the different 360 hardware SKU's at manufacture is 70-30, the 30 being the core packs, currently the retailers I have polled tell me that Core pack reservations are around 1-2% of the total preorder figure.

On a 50K ship, based on these figures, they would need to have only allocated 1000 Core units for the UK day one as opposed to the 15K we are likely to get :help:

The 360's should start shipping out to retail from Monday [based on a standard entertaiment distribution model], bulk drops like EUK,Virgin,Toys R Us, DSG, Game, Gamestation, HMV Merlin Park should start to show stock at their DC's by mid week.

Store front accounts like HMV, Indie Game store should be later in the week.

So its fairly likely then that Core 360s will be available for all on release date if wanted?

just gone for the core pack, with extra controller and PD0 from currys due to the voucher doing the rounds and a cash back deal off 5% via my CC and an extra 2% cashback as it was a master card from said CC company.

Should work out @ £251

Still need to buy a HD and VGA lead, but its better than full rrp. (come on play voucher. . .)

They had the full packs in at 3pm today, when i was messing about looking for stuff, added it to cart, and it all went through, had no cc got home and it had gone again. . .

wollies have a new core pack in, game mem card for 277

If I do not get it on launch day i can wait, and if i do find a better deal i cancel it. ..

PREMIUM PACK ORDER

Console £280
2nd Wireless Pad £33
PGR3 £40
Madden 06 £40
3rd Game £40

TOTAL £433

CORE PACK ORDER

Console with 2nd pad/PGR3 £265
Madden 06 £40
3rd Game £40
Hard Drive £70
HD Cable £18

TOTAL £433

Now that is what my sums tell me if I order the Core Pack from Currys now with the £20 off voucher compared to my old plans. Now all I miss out on is the Remote and 2nd Wireless Pad (1 wired and 1 wireless instead), correct?

I'm very tempted now - its that annoying message of Due to short supply we are now unable to guarantee pre-Christmas delivery of new orders for this item. that is bothering me. Have they been told that or is it a staple message for all X360s on the site cos they haven't had confirmation as of yet?

To add to the whole general mish-mash of (mis)information, my local Gamestation manager says he's been told he's getting a second batch of Xbox Premium in on the 15th of December and has been told they're getting far more copies of each game than they are consoles.

Give in to the dark side mate. I already have. Was just thinking how tacky that chrome DVD drive looks ;)

I'm not ordering online though. No way. I think the cores should be easier to find on launch day so I'm gonna try and pick one up in-store - if that doesn't work out then it's not meant to be... I don't really want the core, but I'll take it reluctantly - no way I'm chasing around after one though. Not cancelling my Gameplay order until after the 2nd.

Popped into my local GAME, I'm 16th in the queue and I've been told I'll get one before Christmas. Sod Christmas, I want one at launch. I've got the day booked off.

I've got a load of games to trade in, they have quoted me £62 at Game and £70 at Gamestation, should I trade in at Game and hope that they will put together a decent bundle with the Console, or do I trade in at Gamestation and hope that they discount some of the games or accessories. What do you think?

Cheers

Ian

I thought id chance my arm while in pc world yesterday and asked if they were taking pre orders. Amazingly i was told there wasnt a pre order list, first come first served when they come in, they did however say that PC World only were allocated 1000 xbox's for all its stores in the UK, so i cant see me battering down their door to be first there somehow :)
