Absolutely shocking. I really am stunned. Another gone far, far too soon. WrestleMania XX will seem even more special after this. Unbelievable.

He was going to be in a match with Batista and Orton, and with his injury Batista would have had to drop the title.
I dont believe it, a real shocker
Haven't been following wrestling for a good few years now but I was still shocked and saddened to hear this. Far too many wrestlers die young. :(

Terrible news, a great wrestler.
I wonder what the circumstances were. He was quite religious and apparently over his pain killer addiction from a few years back.

very sad news,great entertainer....rip
I always enjoyed his matches...rip.
A Great Shame, The best entertainer in WWE as well as being a hell of a wrestler.
He will definately missed from the show.
VIVA LA RAZA FOREVER!
One of the best, as i said in the WWE thread.
At least he was back being shown in a good light on the show, as it would have left him with a tarnished image a few months back.
i only used to watch wwe for 3 wrestlers
chris benoit, chris jericho and eddie gurrero
eddie was a superb wrestler

Very sad.
A bit more news from the Wrestling Observer-
"Eddie Guerrero was found dead in his hotel room in Minneapolis this morning at the age of 38.
The only details available is that Guerrero came in yesterday for tonight's scheduled television tapings at the Target Center where he was scheduled in the main event. He was staying at the Marriott City Center hotel in downtown Minneapolis.
He had an early wake-up call shortly after 7 a.m. that he didn't answer. Chavo Guerrero, who he was traveling with, called the room and again got no answer. When knocks on his hotel room door went unanswered, security got the door open and Eddie was found dead in the bathroom.
Many have noted the coincidence both of Guerrero passing away in a hotel room, similar to Brian Pillman, in 1997, in nearby Bloomington.
Guerrero was one of the best wrestlers of this generation and immensely popular within the industry".

blimey. a shocker. Wasnt he the wrestler who had a 'WWF storyline relationship' with 'MAMMA CITA' Stone colld Steve Austin's real life busty wife?
OMG. Like everyone else he was one of my favourites no matter what insane storyline they cooked up for him.
One word for it, tragic.

I don't think so. Steve Austin's wife was Debra who used to work with Jeff Jarrett. Eddie had a storyline with Chyna who used to go out with Triple H.

I don't think anything suspicious will come out of this. His past is well documented and all indications are that his demons were behind him. The problem is that when someone stops abusing their body, it may stop things getting worse, but doesn't necessarily undo the damage already done. This was true of Road Warrior Hawk, and I believe Curt Hennig and Rick Rude also.
I think what makes this one tougher is that we've seen his family on Smackdown in the last year. You feel like you know the people who are going to take this the hardest.

I agree, the documentary about Eddie Guerrero released last year told the story of his past demons and about his life made us closer to him.
It's hard to believe as well as after watching Smackdown this week. He was still in his prime
This is a bit of a shock to me too, I was watching WWE this afternoon and was laughing at the way he framed his opponent with the chair. I thought he was one of the more entertaining ones, they need more like him.
There's an amazing tribute video here...

I don't mind admitting I shed a tear or two at the end, when the footage of him winning the title came on. :(

I'm absolutely stunned :(
In the past few months I've been watching WWE after getting Sky in again. The one man who always impressed me with not only his ability as a wrestler but to take whatever screw loose storyline the writers threw at him and give it 100% was Guerrero. The recent Rey Mysterio storyline was made by Guerreros performance. And in recent weeks I've laughed out loud at his comedic performances (especially when he had the trots  )
To think that just last night I watched him dupe Kennedy on Smackdown not knowing that he was dead is weird :(
I hope he will be remembered as an all time great. I also hope that the WWE (ie. Vince) will give him the sendoff he deserves on TV. He has been one of their most entertaining stars of recent years. I hope they acknowledge that.
RIP Eddie :( :( :(

thats the one. 'Chyna' was 'Mamma Cita' in Eddie's storylines
So it is the wrestler I was thinking of. He was very entertaining. Yet another wrestler dies needlessly :(
That is terrible news.
He really has been the best thing about the WWE for the past couple of years now.
What an enormous loss...
this is a huge blow
RIP eddie :(!!!
As said before really sad to hear this, i think whats more of a shock is that i just watched him on Smackdown 2 days ago.
I thought Raw was 'Live' tonight 2am SS3, and then Smackdown is taped tuesday but shown Fridays?

Death
On November 13, 2005, Guerrero passed away in his hotel room in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the Marriott City Center Hotel. The cause of death according to Hennepin County medical examiners was that he suffered a massive coronary (heart attack) while he was brushing his teeth.
WWE.com later released the following announcement:
"WWE is deeply saddened by the news that Eddie Guerrero has passed away. He was found dead this morning in his hotel room in Minneapolis. Eddie is survived by his wife Vickie and daughters Shaul, 14, Sherilyn, 9, and Kaylie Marie, 3."
On the day of his death, he was set to face Batista and Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship on November 13 taping of Friday Night SmackDown! to air on November 18. It was highly speculated that he was to win the title that night.
WWE held a press conference with a speech from his nephew Chavo Guerrero, Jr, who spoke of Eddie's four years of sobriety that would have come on November 15 this year. Chavo adamantly defended his uncle, saying he had defeated his 'personal demons'. [1]
WWE RAW on November 14, 2005, and WWE Friday Night Smackdown! on November 18, 2005, will each air as a tribute to Eddie Guerrero. None of the Superstars are required to wrestle, although there have been matches booked, including one featuring Chavo Guerrero Jr., his nephew. These shows will be similar to the RAW is Owen special edition of RAW, which paid tribute to the late Owen Hart, and the SmackDown special in Houston, Texas two days after the September 11, 2001 attacks.
Eddie Guerrero's funeral will take place on November 16 in Phoenix, Arizona. "Superstar" Billy Graham will be performing the service.
This is very sad news. I havent been folloing WWE recently, but he was an amazing wrestler.

I've just snapped up a ticket to smackdown on the 22nd. I'll be taking along a big banner with RIP Eddie on it as a mark of respect for the guy. He was an incredible wrestler and it's such a shame to think he will never be seen again!

Vickie Guerrero speaks on Eddie's autopsy report
Nov. 15, 2005
After the untimely passing of Eddie Guerrero, WWE and the entire sports-entertainment community is still reeling from the devastating loss of a champion. The initial autopsy reports on Guerrero have come in. WWE.com spoke with Eddie’s widow, Vickie Guerrero, earlier today.
“It was heart failure. It was from his past – the drinking and the drug abuse. They found signs of heart disease. She (the examiner) said that the blood vessels were very worn and narrow, and that just showed all the abuse from the scheduling of work and his past. And Eddie just worked out like crazy all the time. It made his heart grow bigger and work harder and the vessels were getting smaller, and that’s what caused the heart failure. He went into a deep sleep.
As soon as they saw his heart, they saw the lining of his heart already had the heart disease. There was no trauma, and Eddie hadn’t hurt himself in any way. It answered a lot of questions. I knew Eddie wasn’t feeling very good for the last week. He was home and kept saying he wasn’t feeling good and we thought it was just “road tired.” So we thought he just had to rest. It answered a lot of my questions, too, because he was just so exhausted. She said it was normal because the heart was working so hard.
When he didn’t call me last night and the night before I knew it was for real, because he would call me every night. I miss his phone calls. I cried through the whole thing (last night).
I loved his laugh. His laugh was the best.
We just celebrated his four-year sobriety last Thursday. We just thought we had life by the handful. We thought we had it all figured out. He worked so hard to make a better life for us.
I’m just overwhelmed by how people are coming out. It’s touched my heart a lot.
Everybody was just in awe last night in how beautifully everything was put together.
All my life was wrestling. All he did was take care of them and live for that. And I don’t know what to do now.”

Just watched RAW myself, and I must say it was tough viewing. To see big tough guys like Benoit, HHH, Batista and the Big Show in tears was heartbreaking.
Mentioned this on the other thread, but I had the pleasure of meeting him in NYC just before WMXX and he was a real nice guy and had something to say to all the fans that queued for hours and hours.
Hope his family can get through this.

Just finished watching RAW. It was indeed hard to watch at times. Batista in particular got to me :(
The sight of Angle, Big Show, HHH and Benoit in tears at the start was also very affecting.
Well done to Vince and the WWE. You did the man proud.

It looks like WWE have dropped Chavo's Kerwin White character. He is listed as Chavo again on the website, with no mention of the White character name. I expect he preferred to use the Guerrero name in order to pay triubute to Eddie.
A good-taste move in an industry not exactly noted for it.
Likewise watched Raw last night...i was almost in tears as well..very moving. RIP Eddie. :(

RIP EddieI'll check that one out; of the ones I've seen so far, I think Regal and Malenko are the two who are truely devestated by this loss (not that the others probably aren't, but those two show it).
I hope that what was said by McMahon (I think) is true; evey penny of the royalties that will continue to be due to Eddie are to go straight to his wife and daughters.
Watching this now and it's very emotional :(
