View Full Version : Trigger Happy TV - What's your fave sketch?
I've just reviewed both series of Trigger Happy TV for DVD Times. Check out the review link in my sig!
My fave sequence is when he invites the rat catchers to his house, only for them to find a man dressed up in a rat costume lying on the settee! :D
What's your favourite sketch?
Incidentally, my copy of series 1 was nicked a few days ago! :( Anyone want to sell me theirs for a tenner?
Poor Raphph. :( The ************ will pay!
My fave is the "One Millionth Sex Shop Customer" gag - truly priceless!
And an honourable mention goes to "Tortoise limping across zebra crossing, only to be overtaken by Hare".

How about the one where the car is coming out of a safari park with gorillas all over it tearing it to bits??
Simple but priceless
Also, the squirrels and the dogs are excellent.
On a down side, when he plays characters such as the swiss student to get some sort of reaction from some old biddy I'm not so amused (especially when he pretends to open the post of one elderly woman and pockets the cash inside - I think he scared the life out of her).
there's far too many classic's to warrant picking a handful!
The dogs beating each other up is always amusing, although some other sketches can be a bit hit and miss. I'm not sure how well this programme copes with multiple viewings.
Sketches that stand out to me include the 'Cowboy Builder', the robber (in full stripey shirt and mask) trying to get out of the upper floor window with the aid of a passer by, the metaller (Slipknot tshirt and nose chain) talking to the old bloke about poetry and art (funny!).
there's a whole lot more too!

For me it has to be the snowman scenes, the passer-by's completly ignore and walk staright past what looks like either an amazingly well built snowman or ....... you've guessed it A MAN IN A SNOWMAN COSTUME. ( how they dont notice is beyond me), but the looks on their faces whaen the snowman starts throwing snowballs at them is absolutley priceless.

Anyone remember the bloke walking down Soho and a spotlight comes on him? That's one of my mates that is! Well, I used to work for him.

The traffic warden always makes me laugh :D
But for the persons reaction it has to be the blind guy in the lift
I've always loved those rampaging grey squirrels. Especially the sketch where they jump the fisherman and push him in.:D

The Orangu-Gram for me. Thought it was hilarious, leaving a man in an orangutan costume in someone's shop and he just stood there while the staff looked on totally bemused.
Either that or the man trapped in his house who asked the passer by to pour beer and curry through the letter box. Genius.
Thought series two went downhill rather sharply though.

Tough question...
My favourite has to be the one where he's holding a stop/go sign and turns it round and it's a stop/stop sign. The way the driver edges forward each time he turns it round, expecting it to have changed, cracks me up every time :D

For me it's gotta be the traffic warden sketches :D
I also STILL find the "annoying bloke on the mobile phone" sketches to be absolutely hysterical! :D
I love the bloke in the snail costume crawling slowly across the road, also when he pretends to be really old with a walking stick, and after some kind soul helps him to sloooowly get down a big set of steps, he jumps on a bicycle and rides off!

Has to be the traffic warden sketches for me as well, the 2 that spring to mind are when he talks to the guy with the dust cart and the other is a guy sitting in his Merc/BMW waiting to turn out of a junction.
Superb :)

Three spring to mind. The posh tiger one which came before the orangatangram, the one on the vid where dom does a tour of the square to a couple of american tourists and just descrbes the windows and doors, the fact they go round about ten times before saying something was hilarious and finally the one where he pulls up and removes the temp bus stop, oh yeah and the road workers having dinner in a coned off area stopping the traffic, damn thats four oh well may as well add the interview on the bridge with some celeb when he goes off for the cup final or something and leaves the guy on the bridge, all priceless!
With so many to choose from before I read your favourite the rat catcher one spang to mind as well as the guy with the big hair at the cinema.
To many to choose to be honest but my favourite characters are the Traffic Warden closely followed by the two dogs knocking crap out of each other.

It would have to be the man in the street who has lost his contact lense. He asks 2 Japanese tourists to help him find it while he goes back to reading his book. All the time, there is the "don't trust this man" sign behind him. And boy do they search.
Anyone see the time he was on Richard and Judy (hey, I was channel surfing at the time while off work sick). He collapsed because of a caffeine overload. Hilarious.
I liked the one when he was doing an interview and a female "fan" runs up and starts kissing him etc. not paying any attention to the susposidly big star being interviewed them Dom runs off after her.
The traffic wardon is another favourite, especially the one when he stops the motor cyclist at the traffic lights.

The huge mobile phone gag is almost so "classic" that we forget about it... but I think it is the all-round funniest thing.
I also love the one where he has the self-help tapes on his huge headphones. The one in the lift is hilarious.

this (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/jonathan_d/lift.avi) lift clip is my favourite one ever!!!
this (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/jonathan_d/bus.avi) is a classic just for the expression on the people's faces afterwards
(you need divx to view them)

Cowboy builder for me - but just the bit where he is painting the window on a mechanical bull!!!! I nearly passed out laughing at that.
Also the bunnies "enjoying" each other on the shop windows.
