Is it me or is the most over hyped rubbish ever. I was falling asleep at the screening . It was nothing special compared to other films or even TV shows.

Haven't seen the film but yes I got totally ****** off with all the "in your face" hype preceding the film release. From what I've heard, it's a film that falls into the 'Nothing Special' category.
i went see it last week. To sum it up:
The biggest pile of absolute ***** that i've ever seen
I couldn't be bothered with it. I had to strain my eyes to keep myself awake. As for the special effects all the good ones were shown on the trailer with only the sports game scene which wasn't in the trailer. I wished i'd gone to see 51st state instead

No you don't
I have to completely agree with everything said so far. I thought it was terrible. I hadn't read any of the books, and don't really want to judging by the steaming pile of bullplop that was this film.
The special effects were rubbish, it was far too long and could have had about 2 hours taken out, as it was only the last 30mins that had any story or plot.
The only saving grace was Alan Rickman who stole every scene. Apparently though a lot of the adult cast refused to sign for the three guaranteed films due to crap money being offered and crap amount of screen time.
The review in Empire summed it up perfectly when it said that as it is already guarnteed for three films, it doesn't need to be a self contained hit, and therefore its downfall for people who haven't read any of the books is that it takes too long to set up characters before a final quick quest-cum-whodunnit plot in the last 30mins.
I wouldn't touch the DVD with a 10,000 foot bargepole even if it was a 5disc set with the greatest sound, picture and extras ever.
