On play it says that this is 'black and white' and 'colour'. The description says it is 'black and white'. Is the film in black and white or colour or both???

I always thought it was Black and white.
Perhaps they are referring to extras ????

Well the only extra is a trailer, presumably if the film was in black and white then the trailer would be as well.
Dear God, please not the "colourised" version screened on BBC2 a while back; it was quite simply awful.
Why anyone wasted all that time on something so pointless really depresses me!

Fellow Warriors,
the R1 is I believe, non-anamorphic.
The R2 is anamorphic with a documentary on a second disc and can be picked up in the "2 for £22" sale at Virgin. Which effectively means it'll be around that price or less at many more places in the months to come.
Yours Longingly,
Lik.

R2 2 disc £9.99 at Play.
 This film was made in what, 1960?
The producer actively chose to film it in B&W and some schmuck colourised it?
What the?

I was refering to the R4 which has a Documentary on Disc 2, therefore assuming that R1 had this as well.....

If you check out the Amazon.com web site you will see that they have two versions of this movie for sale. One is purely B+W the other one colour (which I presume to mean colourised version).
The B+W version is also cheaper (guess you have to pay for those lovely fake colours) :D

The UK R2 is the original b/w version all fine with a colour documentary on the 2nd disk.
Have seen a colourised version of the film on ITV (Saturday afternoon) few years ago was appalling. Probably designed for those people who refuse to watch b/w films !
