I get ghosting on my philpis widescreen Tv on the 1st 2 av channels. I dont get any ghosting however when I use the yellow video cable...
does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

On my Tosh the ghosting was the TV tuner being output down the SCART to the input device. So when watching my STB, for instance, I could see the ghosted image of channel the TV was tuned into. The solution was to disconnect pin 19 (video out) on one end of the SCART (just push the pin back into the SCART housing).

If you look carefully at the plastic next to the SCART pins, you should just be able to make out the pin numbers moulded onto the plug. Locate pin 19 and remove the plastic cover from one end of the lead. Use a pin to push in the little ridge on the SCART pin that keeps it in place. Then, simply pull the pin up into the mass of wires inside the plug (making sure that there's no metal-metal contact).
It doesn't matter which end you choose since pin 19 (video out) connects to pin 20 (video in) at the other end of the cable. That's often why you get ghosting through SCART - you've got a feedback loop (pin 19 -> pin 20 -> pin 19 -> pin 20 ->....); disconnecting one pin 19 breaks the loop. Once you've disconnected pin 19, though, it does matter which end you plug into the TV. I'm not sure which is correct, so just try the lead both ways around.
There's no guarantees that this will necessarily fix your problem, but if it fails, simply push pin 19 back into place and look for another solution! :)
