Windows 98/Internet Explorer Problem

I got my parents an old PC for them to surf the net on.
Only problem is when a link is clicked on a web page that opens a new window, the new window is blank.
What would cause that?

What version of IE? Sounds like the association hasn't been registered properly.
You can 'kick' it by doing it manually. Click 'Start' -> 'Run'. Type: (Press Enter after each command)

regsvr32 /i urlmon
regsvr32 /i shdocvw
regsvr32 /i mshtml
regsvr32 oleaut32
regsvr32 actxprxy
regsvr32 jscript
regsvr32 vbscript

You may need to restart Windows. If that doesn't work, your copy of 'Oleaut32.dll' may be an older one. The Visual Basic 6 runtimes (from Microsoft's site) has that file in it.

Digging around Google, a couple of people also recommend IEFix (http://windowsxp.mvps.org/iefix.htm).
