Anyone watch this last night? What a festival of crap!
The narrator kept reminding us that The Omen is one of "the most notorious and shocking horror films ever made"... really? Honest to God?
Dragging out Harvey Bernhard to recount his hackish anecdotes of a "cursed" production was bad enough, but digging up a "professional" "exorcist" to inflict his skewed Jesus-teasing was unbearable.
Almost as bad as Friedkin hyperbolically banging on forever about the "eerie tragedies" that befell the cast of The Exorcist, when everyone else involved has scotched such supernatural rubbish.
Plus - to enter into the ridiculous spirit of this doc, why would Satan take umbrage to a film where he kicks ass so much? Surely he's sitting on his throne of fire mumbling to various leviathons "Hey, that waaaasssss wicked! Two cloven hooves up!"

I caught about five minutes of this and that was more than enough; The Omen is a decent little film, but host to a great score -
#Oi vaaaaayy, pretty pusssssssssssss, duck billed platty pusssssssss#
(0r something like that...)

so Old Nick is more likely to curse those in or around films such as "The Ten Commandments" you reckon? ... maybe he just can't help himself, he's probably his own worst enemy ...

Exactly! You'd think he'd be throwing fireballs at Bruce Almighty, not stuff that plays like an advert for him.
Well, I'd understand him besetting Little Nicky with suppurating cankers.

he'll have his revenge ... i'll bet he'll be seeing Jim Carey, and especially Chuck Heston in the not too distant future ...
Oh, ****!
I really wanted to see this. i had the whole series set on series link on sky+. It recorded all the other ones but failed to record this!
Gutted!

On the contary, I thought it was an excellent documentary. Although I've heard these stories before it was refreshing to hear from the horses' mouth. Something very odd went on that production.
John Richardson involved in the car crash where his assistant in the passenger seat was decapitated near the 666 miles to Ommann was too much of a coincidence!

my favourite!
Oh come on, don't take it all so seriously! It was a fun salacious docu to get you in the Halloween mood! I thoroughly enjoyed every silly second of it! The obvious 'naughty schoolboy' glee in Richard Donner's recounting of watching the flick with audiences was quite delicious! :D

Oh my, it's all too much of a coincidence, there really is a devil and he really goes to the movies. Aaaahhhhh
Reminded me of a doc I did about UFOs invading london, and another about a 200 year old devil man leaping buildings. You can make TV say anything you want, and boy was it laid on thick in the omen doc.

Pft. You say not to take it seriously but I've just been reading umpteen threads on other sites with various "OMFG! Teh Film woz CuRs3D!!" comments.
I just hate this sort of sub-supernatural drivel with no rational argument to the otherwise presented.

i thought it was Poltergiest that was cursed, especially after what happened to Heather O'Rourke ...

And Superman. And Rebel Without a Cause.
What's Satan got against them, eh? EH!

Superman, deffo ... maybe he's jealous of the tights?
sounded quite good, is it repeated anytime soon? :D

What? You mean septic shock from an infection due to acute bowel obstruction. Spoookkkkyyy!
And Superman. <s>And Rebel Without a Cause.</s>

Only Son coming to Earth to be the saviour of the world?
Donner seemed to be the only sane person there.

hey, if the big fella upstairs works in mysterious ways, so can Satan ... anyway, Dominique Dunne is dead too (murdered) ...

I'd include Tobe Hooper in that curse - since he hasn't directed a decent film since (and barely directed that 'un, allegedly).
If anyone is interested the E! True Hollywood Story of Poltergeist is on E! tonight (I think tonight, you'd need to double check)! Includes the 'curse' and what befell Dunne and O'Rouke etc.

I remember reading an interview with Griffin Dunne about his sister's death somewhere: was quite depressing (funnily enough).

No mention of The Omen in the book "Hollywood Hex-Death and Destiny In the Dream Factory-An Illustrated History of Cursed Movies".....so looks like there is no curse after all, phew

They will always say that. Watched "The Toolbox Murders" on DVD the other day and watched the extras, a woman doing a documentary on the film, said it was the best real horror film in a long time and immediately thought what BS, the film was terrible.
