Sony DVPNS400 - is this multiregion from box?

I have a friend who just bought this player and one of the options is to set up the region....does anyone know if this player remains multiregion or whether it will region lock after a few changes

Unless bought from a multi-region dealer, a Sony player is never going to be multi-region out of the box.

The option that your friend is talking about is probably for parental control. If I remember correctly, when the region is selected the 'parental levels' will appear similar to the certification ratings in that region - ie. PG-13, R, NC-17 for the US or U, PG, 12, 15 and 18 for the UK.

Is I right, or can someone correct me?
