The previous owners had Sky installed 4-5 years ago so we're left with a dish and an inch or so of cut cable coming out of the wall. I've bought a Sky box and the cable which screws onto the connector- however I need an adapter that will link the other end to the bare cable in the wall.

I've tried searching Maplin & Ebay but to be honest, I haven't got a clue what I'm looking for and this "female-male" connector thing's doing my nut in.

Can anyone please advise???? :brickwall

So what connection is on the end of the cable coming from the Sky box ?

Edit: If its a standard F connector then you will need another F connector for the cable coming from the wall and a coupler, Though i can only see the F connectors on Maplins site and not the couplers !!

P.S If you are in Wolverhampton then pop into Tylers and i should be able to suply you with whats needed !

It really annoys me that Sky installers are so lazy and won't fit a god damn socket to the wall. They just drill a hole and run a cable through the wall to the box, meaning problems like this! :brickwall

Ideal solution is to connect the cut cable to a socket (female F ?), then you can just use a regular F connector to join the cable from the box to the wall socket.
