To add a competitive edge to our pre-season friendlies, I thought we'd have a small tourney to see how practice is going.

It will be limited to a maximum of 32 people (31 + me :D ). Anybody who signs up after that will be a reserve. Only sign up if know you're going to have good availablity for the next 2 weeks and can play within the deadlines set.

You can play with any team you like.

The draw will be sunday afternoon and Round 1 will kick off immediately.

Timetable

Sunday 30th October - Round 1 Draw

Thursday 3rd November - Anybody who has made no attempt to arrange to play their game will be replaced by a reserve if there is one, otherwise their opponent will get a bye.

Saturday 5th November - Round 2 Draw

Friday 11th November - QF Draw

Tuesday 15th November - SF Draw

Friday 18th November - Final must be played by now!

Settings

Each round will consist of 1 match only (ie no home & away).

Time - 15 mins
Extra time - On
Penalties - On
Condition - Normal
Weather - Fine

Just in case you missed the header, this is for the Xbox version (though you could obviously mean practicing PES5 irrespective of platform, you may also have an xbox emulator on your laptop for all I know :dork: )

Don't worry, you get good very quickly. Scored 6 goals in my last two games now :clap:

Shooting is even more lighter tapping than before - if you are not careful (well at least with me :D) you shoot almost vertically up :lol:

Good game mate. The scoreline could have been so different if you'd converted the chances you had in the first half. I would have loved to see that scissor kick go in. That would have been a classic goal.

I didn't expect to win this as i haven't won a game yet on the xbox version.

Hope this is the start of a decent cup run.

Well played mate! What I'm really stuggling with this game is defending, it doesnt seem to matter if you have even 5 at the back, 1 through ball and the defenders seem to lurk in midfield.

That said it's still another game.

Gunner 1 - 2 Renegade Ram

Good game, I really struggled to hold the ball for any length of time. Scored after 7 mins then Gunner equalised after 9 minutes. Scored again in the 77th minute - against the run of play I would say - and held out for the win

Spenny8 - don't know what happened mate - you're 1-0 up and the thing kicked me out - then second time we're arranging our teams and it kicks me out again. Must be something at my end as it's kicking me out of xbox live too. I tried again and played a 5 minute match with someone else and everything was fine.
We can either replay this game (with you having a one goal advantage) or you can go through as the fault's at my end.

Really good game and I was disappointed I couldn't take it into extra time, especially with that shot going just wide in the last minute but you held on well.

Rawowl. For what it's worth I had a lot of bad lag in my friendly with you tonight in the half where you hosted (that's why I didn't stick around for another game). In the last 15 mins the game was pausing about 2 secs, jumping to catch up with the action and immediately pausing for another 2 secs, completely unplayable really.

Not being critical, just hopefully helping with some info. :)

Good games mate. First time I have been involved in a game with that many goals for a long time. :nuts: The goalies seemed to let a few easy ones in I thought

I was fearing the worst when it went to 2-0. Your disallowed goal that would have made it 3-0 was crucial as was me getting it back to 2-2 at half time. Pleased to go from 2-0 down to 4-2 up but was panicking a bit at the end when you made it 4-3 but managed to hold on.

Just spoken to Pete and agreed 10:45pm tonight with him. I'm going to be playing as Liverpool but at the rate I'm going with goaless draws or losses then it'd probably be better if I let a coin toss decide it! :D

If that is what the PES5 Live experience is going to be like though I'm going to form a 'we hate PES5' PES4 league!

The lag in the seocnd half was twice as bad as anything I've experienced on PES4 and my players were so unresponsive that I don't think I kept the ball for more than 3 seconds at a time and never found a player with a pass twice in a row. Awful experience that has put me right of PES5. :oh-hum: :gag:

Hopefully that was a one off. I havent had any lag problems on PES5 as yet.

Cheers for the game matey, not having much luck with the Pool at the mo. Still getting used to the game tho. I knew I should have picked Warnock over Djimi "Own Goal" Traore! :lol:

I scored quite a good goal and rattled the post just after half-time and I just knew when that 2nd shot didn't go in that I'd end up losing.

I’ve split with my fiancé :cry: so I know I won’t get chance to play them both (PC and Xbox) as I wouldn’t be able to hog the connection that long where I’ll be staying so have decided to go the way of the PC only.

If and when I get a new place and have the chance to get my own connection then I may consider it but I canna see this happening in the lifetime of PES 5. Anyone want PES 5 and about 300 DVDs? :(

Carragher headed to ball from the edge of the box over his own keeper hit the bar, for Trezugeut to knock home in the 115th min. Cisse then went straight down the pitch to equalise :( .

finished 2-1 to me against stallion, ac milan v chelsea.

First half was strange, a bit jerky, i could not time tackles to save me life. Got a luck break and a decent finish 1-0 half time.

A Bit dodgy in the second half, be fine for the most part then get very jerky, playing havoc with me tackles/passing. Lost a goal, then lost a man.

1-1 down to ten men, drogba I believe.

Battled it out till 90 mins, passed a ball out wide for vieri, lovely early cross and great finish from the ukranian. Jammy 2-1 win
