View Full Version : Do amazon.co.uk use recorded delivery?
Did a quick search, but couldn't find any pertinent info.
Just ordered a paperback from amazon.co.uk and the only delivery info I was given was "First class". Do amazon.co.uk generally use recorded delivery, or just bog standard 1st class post?
Cheers :)
Bog standard. I've never received anything sent recorded in all the time I've used them.
Blimey, that was quick :notworthy
Cheers, Aretak, saves me having to make sure somebody's in when the postie lands :)

Bet it wont fit through your letterbox. Amazon use huge boxes!

Bah, better make sure there's somebody about then, just incase, otherwise I'll be playing the hunt-the-soggy-package-under-the-plantpots game :)
Cheers :)

Never known them to send anything recorded, unless you use the Super Saver which sometimes comes via Omega and hence a signature is required.
But the boxes are quite big, won't be thru a letterbox. I have a big blue box at the front of my house that the postie sticks my parcels in

I had some random courier deliver me some stuff from Amazon on the supersaver delivery. I was out and they left a card, so I rang back and it sounded like a one woman show. Was good though as she re-delivered to me at 7.30pm the next day - you wouldn't catch City Link doing that!
Yeah, whenever I order anything via supersaver it arrives at a weird time. Strangely, I always seem to be in as well :)

They sometimes use a delivery service which is people local to you delivering, which would explain why it sounded like a 1 woman operation - it probably was!
Decided to hang about for the postie, just in case... Spotted him coming up the drive, headed for the door and just as I got there, the book dropped thru the letterbox
Not to worry, Sod's law dictates that if I hadn't hung about, it would have come in a packing crate :p
The packaging it came in is sort of a wraparound cardboard sleeve - Quite long, but narrow enough to fit thru the letterbox. Dunno whether this is a new type of packing.
Cheers :)
Nah, they've been using those cardboard sleeves for ages... Play (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://playcom.at/thedvdforums) have recently started using them as well.
