I thought it might be good to have this thread.

If anyone comes across a link for anything please post it in this thread or send it by email to me and I'll add it to this first post.

By links, I mean latest demos, patches for demos, patches for full version when it is released, updates etc etc. Basically any useful files to enhance the game. I thought about this, because there are a lot of updates (Wolf, online) that newbies sometimes don't always know about. We could make this thread the first port of call.

You mean the add-on or the original demo, nils?

As Damell said, they only work together. The first demo (the one without the commentary) will not work with this add-on.

The Milan demo wasn't official I don't think - a fan had just edited the teams manually to include them.

Seriously, I am just entering the world of this - I never bothered on PES4. What is the difference between an options file and a patch? This file changes kits and players names etc etc......so what does a patch do?

optin file just changes names and makes tranfsers.......... and is like less then 2 meg.

Patches changes music, movies and adds hi ress pics of lots of things as well as had the updated option file and is more like 200meg+ (laster years wolf patch was like 500 meg)

I assume Lou is referring to the unofficial patches that update kits and rosters.

I can't see a roster update working - and rightly so, as we need the playing field to remain level. But I hope someone comes up with a clever way of changing the kits. I do fear that it will not happen, though, as changing any of the default configs will probably give an error when going online.

Really useful piece of software I found called SmartClose.

Its a small, free piece of software that closes down all running tasks under Windows XP apart from the core system. So as well as freeing up as much memory as possible (which helps with the more graphically intensive games), it ensures you don't have any pesky little bits of software running in the background which might be using your internet connection.

So ideally, just run it before you go online with PES.

Not sure where else to put this and starting a new thread seems pointless so I'm going to stick this in here as it's a bug in the game.

The game crashes / locks up on the formation settings screen

This is a bug in the game caused by too many save files. To fix this goto My Documents\Konami\Pro Evo Soccer 5\save\folder1

Set the View of explorer to "Details" then click on save to order by size. Each file that's 284k is a replay file. Move these files up a level to the save folder and PES should be fine. If you want to watch these replays you'd have to move them back to the "folder 1" folder but be careful.... If you have other replays in you could potentially lose them by over writing them.

The best method would be to move some replays out of the folder, back them up as avi's using the instructions here (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=379629) Then delete them. The move the 2nd half back and do the same.

Until a patch is released to fix this, this is the only way to fix it. A reinstall won't sort it so I'll save you the bother.

I think you have to use the "original" database so you can play people without the patch. I downloaded the file, but no idea how to apply it though :shrug:

As i says above you lost your Connection when others don´t use the same database as you. Here is the File that bring you back the Original Database for Onlinematches. This keep all new Kits,Stadiums etc.
Install it on same method as the rest (DKZ Studio). If you want starting Online Matches with the Superpatch Database, its a good Idea that you only created Rooms with Superpatch at the beginning, so each User knows that you use the UptoDate Database And you don´t lost the Connections, it´s not our fault this are Konami Settings "

Fiorentina are fine offline, but try them online and see what happens..

WTF are you supposed to do with this, the instructions are written by someone who can't speak english.

Step 5: Copy the Optionsfile in:

c:\Document & Settings\USER\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 5\save\folder1

Step 6: Copy the new PES 5.exe(Original) over the old one if you want have the Teamnames for Online Matches

Step 7:
Uninstall your Kitserver (Start Setup.exe in Kitserver Folder and click Remove)

Start your Game & Enjoy: Easy eh ?

Note: We only human and made also Mistakes as all of you, so if you find Errors, please use this Thread:

I'm gonna be uninstalling this unfortunately. There's some nice features (chants, new balls/sponserboards etc) but it's got a few too many bugs in it and the changes they've made to some of the player appearances are terrible!

Plus it's too much fiddling to revert back to the default everytime I want to play online against someone who doesn't have the patch.

You can set it up so you only have to use the correct exe file to start the game up with or with out the patch. So you only have to double click Pes5.exe for the patched version and pes5default.exe for the default version.

i like the patch , have music always on zero as i have my mp3s on in the background so most of the time i miss the crap music.

But jesus christ are the celbrations a bit loud !! :nuts:

THe roar is loony i almost woke my parents up like 4 in the mornign earlier today when scoredthe first goal after installing oatch.

JUst played my first gam e with someone else who had the sueprpatch it it worked fine online now to find somwone who doesnt have it.
