Any Ideas anyone?
I've just installed a new DVD writer in my PC - Benq DW1640 with Nero software but I'm getting nothing from the speakers.
According to the settings everything is working as it should.
Can anyone offer suggestions please.

Is this when you're trying to play a CD with that drive, or in general no sound at all? Have you connected one of those stupid little cables from your writer to your sound card?

Not a peep out of anything.

I do have a small 3 wire cable which runs from the drive to the motherboard, is that the one you mean?

Sounds like the one, should be ok for CD playback. Did you move the PC to connect the writer up, possibly unplugging the cables at the back to do so? Is the headphone jack from your speakers definitely plugged into the output on your sound card, I've made that mistake before when putting things back into place?! :n0rty:
