Sony KV26FS70 any good ?

So I can get this badboy for £1800, is it any good, I've read some quiet glowing reviews of it when it was £2500 so since its even cheaper it must be even more of a bargain, no ?

Has anyone seen DRC in action on DVD, PS2 etc ?

I would go for a RP but the missus has put her foot down, cos they look ugly !

It is worth it, any other suggestions

I'm sure you mean the 36FS70, but lets not be picky!

The DRC50 mode is excellent, really gives a solid picture - almost has the appearance of a plasma screen.

Unfortunately, I'm on my second set. The first one had some purity problems with the tube (green/yellow staining on white images). It also had some very noticeable vertical bars scrolling across the display, most visible on low contrast images.

The second set has an intermittant fault which causes very bright and flickery patches down the left and right hand sides of the screen. It also has the scrolling bars, but not so noticeable. I'll be calling an engineer out soon.

Strangely, a heft thump to the upper-left of the set causes the flickery patches to go away...something is not right...
