i believe he's referring to a Set Top Box i.e ITV Dig..

Sorry mate I assumed you would have known to what i was refering.There are some disadvantages in useing integrated sets (more so with the better quality sets) compared to a tv coupled to a stand alone digital reciever.:eek:

I was unaware of the disadvantages. The 24" question was for a friend but I was looking at 28" with built in DVB - should I consider getting one without?? what are the problems if you get it all built in?

There are allegedly,incompatability issues if you try to use a non-official card on *some* of the available channels with some sets.This may or may not be a deciding factor you.
