I've got the latest version of iTunes installed, but am having big problems getting it to work. I install it ok and then run it for the first time. I agree to the licence agreement and then for a split second a black command line (DOS for you older ones) box comes up. It gives me some message about something being unspecified but it really is that quick that I can't see it before the box disappears.

The iTunes main window then appears but freezes, and I get the "This program has crashed. Do you want to send an error report?" error message. The error is occuring in itunes.exe but I know that can mean anything. Has anyone had similar problems, and if so how did you solve them? I've tried removing iTunes and reinstalling but with no luck, and the rest of my system is running fine.

Are you running the 7.0.3 version of QuickTime?

I've had that problem too. I had to get it by a roundabout way. It might be an issue with their site.

I've just seen iTunes 6 is available. Will download that and see if this new version works. Fingers crossed.

Mines hangs when I exit! Did it with v5 and now v6. CPU uses 99% straight after I close it every time, but if I leave it about a minute it clears itself. If I use end task it goes without any fuss and doesnt cause any other problems. Can live with it though, not a huge deal at all.

Well I'm still having problems, but now don't get as far as a startup screen! The iTunes setup will not install Quicktime, and gives me an error -3. I have tried installing Quicktime 7.0.3.25 (which I found separately) and that won't install. That specific installation gives me the following error:

Error 1606: Could not access network location QTComponents (followed by a 1603 fatal error).

I have no idea what to do now, and would appreciate some advice here.
