View Full Version : XBox / PC Players - How long have you been playing Pro Evo?
Just wondering how many players are new to Pro Evo and how many are vets. I get the impression that there are many players that have only picked up Pro Evo since it was released on the PC/X Box?
Over the years since I first started playing I think it is easily the game I have played more than anything else.
I have been playing since the first ever release of Pro Evo on the Playstaion. Before that, I played some International SuperStar Soccer (ISS) which is the arcadey type version. :dork:

Since ISS on the SNES in about 1994-ish IIRC. I've played them all, on and off.

Since January!
I was given a knackered xbox which i managed to repair. First game i bought was PES4 (mainly because of the online comps in the gaming forum).
I rarely play against the CPU and have never played the master league. As far as I'm concerned the online matches against fellow forumites is what makes this game great.

Agreed

Ahh, nostalgia.
But I think the Jap commentary takes some beating.
Spacie Pass-o.
Played ISS Pro 98 - loved it but then didn't get the chance to play another till Pro Evo Soccer 1 came out. Played that absolutely loads and loved it but then sold my PS2 to fund my Xbox purchase. Didn't really play another till Pro Evo 3 on the PC and became pretty good at that but never really mastered it. It wasn't till Pro Evo 4 came on the Xbox that I really sat down and started to play it for long spells again. Then made that right move to the PC version and haven't looked back since
ISS (SNES)
ISS Deluxe (SNES)
Perfect Eleven 64 (N64 Jap)
ISS98 (N64)
PES4
Tried PES 1 and 2 but preferred ISS98, didn't bother with PES3. Thought I'd give PES4 a go an obtained it for the special xbox :suspect:. Then bought the retail as I really got into it. Bought the PC version just intime to enter Season 0 :D

Been playing it since the first version on the PS1 (but I can't remember which that was now!)
I'm still struggling to adapt to the xbox controller tbh and even though I'm poor I really enjoy playing real opponents on live.
since the beginning of the pes4 leagues (for PC) on the DVD Forums
was a FIFA man before, but the versions of FIFA that were about at the time were a major step back.
since then PES has robbed me of my life!
and i still suck!
Winning Eleven on the Jap SNES. I distinctly remember playing it as Xmas in about '93, I had no idea it would suck up 12 years of my life in the way it has. Except for the original Pro Evo on the PS1 and WE8:Liveware, I've played every version out there.
First played ISS on the Playstation, and then played the N64 version which just so happened to be a completely different game to the PS Version! Yet used the same name...

since the early ps1 days for me too.....ive played the game almost everyday since.
my wife thinks im mad for playing the same game over and over!
from what i remember it was all internationals in those days with the commentary by the legend that is antonios gubba (little fast show nod there!)
then the master league came along and bang...im in love xxx
as for the jap commentary, ive always wished they put this as an option on the european editions because its hilarious, better even than the spanish one.
also i remember tears of joy when i first got pro evo on the ps2 after 'ammering it ps1 for years.i even videoed it for a mate at work, sad gits eh
im in total love with this game and it gets my back right when people say fifas better, but thats been discussed to death so i wont go there.
there is room for improvement and the game aint perfect but i just love it so much.
at the moment ive got it on xbox,pc and psp.and ill probably buy it on 3 formats again this year!
why am i talking about when i could be playing it!
just a heads up for everyone to check out the bargain forum. HMV have pro evo 5 for ps2 and xbox priced up at £14.99 delivered!!
Yeah, ISS on the SNES too - although that was totally different.
Played it loads on PSX with a mate - always got beaten.
Then really took off again with PS2 and even more so with the PC version of PES 4 where I started to actually play it more like a footie game rather than an arcade game.
PES 5 should take this to another level as, I believe, tactical play is even more essential to succeed :suspect:
ISS since the Playstation One. Think was probably about 96??
I played and loved ISS on the N^$ but never touched it again until June this year when I bought the PC version.
explains why I'm so crap compared with others, reading this thread! :)

Winning Eleven 6 - but it's only available on Japanese import.
Another one who started with ISS and ISS deluxe on SNES :)
Since then ISS98 on N64, WE6 on Gamecube and PES3 and PES4 on PC.

Ahhh yeah. I remember the HUGE thread I started on this when it first came out.
Still have my copy but, as you would have guessed, hardly played these days. Did play it earlier this year at a friend's house but the graphics made my eyes bleed :D

ISS98 (N64)
WE6:FE (Gamecube)
PES4 (PC)
A big break between ISS and WE6, as I only had Nintendo/Sega consoles for that generation.
Only really started playing it a lot with PES4, though. And as others have said, I also hardly ever play single player, and even then it is only as practice for team I must use online
