Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but upon finally watching Moulin Rouge on Friday night, I was shocked to find how similar it looked to Suspiria? The bold primary colours, elaborate sets, some nice steadicam moments and most of all the rooftop/window shots framing the main characters in bright blue and yellow/gold looked very familiar. Admittedly the soundtrack can't compete with the mighty Goblin and there's nothing to make you jump but visually I thought MR was much better than expected:D .
For those that have been avoiding it, check it out, I was fully expecting to hate the film as I'm not a fan of musicals ( South Park and The Wicker Man excepted ) but the Argento-influenced visuals and the sheer scale of it all did entertain me. My only criticism would be that with all the exitement it's difficult to give a rat's arse about the characters....still you can't have everything.
