Well, first of all you need a IRC client - most popular one is mIRC available to download, free, from www.mirc.com (about 500k)

once you've got that up and running simply set it up to connect to an EFNet server (file|options|connect|ircservers)and then type "/join #dragonsden" in the status window.

easy as that!
