After getting cheesed off with Panda Titanium, and the fact that it seems to hog my system resource most of the time, I want to change my virus scanner.
Anyone recommend a better option? PC World (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/pan/TrackerServlet^QS^p=1078^QA^a=60823^QA^g=19560) (off all places!) seemed to have a decent offer on the ZoneLabs Security Suite (firewall, anti virus, IM protection etc etc) - £25 instead of £50. Anyone used this?
Cheers for any help
Mark.

NOD32 is considered to be one of the best commercial AV solutions around.
I'd go with NOD32 as well (in fact I have) :)

NOD32 again !
Why is NOD32 concidered so good?
Ive only heard about it in the last month or so. Have always used Norton which I know is bloated but it works well and is very easy to use. What would I gain if I switched over from the dark side?
we've just switched to trend (at the insistance of our manager) and that seems to be pretty good so far.

Look at the virus bulletin website for reports on av testing.
It as a small footprint on the system and updates every day checks for updates every hour and updates if required set and forget it.
It is very fast at scanning.

A colleague of mine installed that a few days ago on a Compaq celleron laptop and it ground to a halt

Cheers for the replies. Seems like a no-brainer.

They offer a 30 day free trial, so you have the option to try before you buy. That's what I did. :)

Yeah, just noticed that. Thanks for the heads-up anyway.

I've always been impressed by the Enterprise version of McAfee VirusScan - this is the version I use at home, actually and I've never had a virus since I've been using it. It takes care of itself in terms of updates etc.
We use Sophos at work, which is also pretty decent - we often get up to 4 updates PER DAY!
NOD32 user and recommender here as well

Have been a Trend user for years. Not the cheapest in the world, but it's never let me down.

Just installed the trial version of NOD32, and it looks very good at the moment.
To put it into context, Panda Titanium 2005 was utilising 65% of my system's resource (according to task manager). NOD is currently using 17%, and that includes it doing a system scan.
Cheers for the recommendation chaps.

You're a reseller? Can I buy online from you instead of direct from the website? I'd rather put the business through a fellow forum-ite if it helps?

Thanks but I'm not sure the promotion of non-affiliated businesses on the forums is allowed.
Just as long as you use & promote NOD rather than the bloat-fest that is Norton, I'll be happy. Plus, I can't sell it for less than the RRP on the offical website anyway.

sort or in relation to NOD. I run a small IT support company so it's good to have a standard product to reduce our support issues. Since NOD is the best, it was easy to go with it. When I want to supply it to a client, I have a reseller webpage that I order from. Within 5 mins the licences (a username and password) are emailed to the client and I can install it straight away. We get invoiced at the end of the month so normally we have the money from the client before we get charged.
Compare with Norton where I once emailed them asking about setting up a reseller account (pre-NOD and a few years ago before Norton went really bad) - they didn't even reply.
With NOD, we supply a good product we can support, our clients are happy and we make a above average healthy percentage. Everyone's a winner!
We sell about 20 new licences a week on average plus the renewals
