Just been looking on EzyDVD and noticed this...

I hope they are sticking with the full season box sets aswell and not these (rubbish) compilation's that the VHS has had for a long time.

We will see hmmm.

Stuart.

Apparently R2 and R4 sales have been quite poor for the Simpsons boxsets (maybe it is because they were about 50% dearer than R1!!). They may well just release them in R1 from now on with the compilations coming in R2 and R4

Fox UK are going to be doing the same.

The first release is in Feb/March

They are still releasing the Season boxset but it might not be until May.

I was thinking exactly the same thing, when I read the article on DVD times

It would honestly be a shame if they decided to release compilations instead of full seasons.

How would Fox decide which episodes to include?

I'm pretty sure not everyone will like exactly the same episodes, so releasing full seasons would be a better idea......although more expensive :(

They better not do that! I like having the complete thing. Even if there are duff episodes. It's like Dr Who. There are some classics and i get them but even the crap episodes I still buy just to have the complete set!

Here's an early review of a UK dvd of a music-themed Simpsons.
Sorry if it's old news.

I would have though it was almost inevitable they will release compiliation DVDs, its proved a successful release strategy for video, personally wont be touching them with a bargepole, full seasons or nothing

Poor sales - $ox! We get penalised because they are greedy. TBH if they only release selected episodes on r2 we should not buy them.

Well as somebody has already said, R2 around £30.00, R4 around £28.00, R1 £17.49.

Well duh, which version should we buy......

Fox have both sorts planned for next year - Compilations and Season Box Sets.

The following dates have been applied:

18th Mar 2002 Simpsons: The Simpsons Film Festival
20th May 2002 Simpsons: Season 2 Box Set
##th June 2002 Simpsons: Backstage Pass

More information on what/when Fox is releasing here (http://www.dvddebate.com/article.php?sid=2436&mode=&order=0), including an SE release of Predator.
