I have a Sony KV24 WX1 24" widescreen TV, which has been fine aside from a few adjustments I had to make. I have problem that when the TV is set to say an AV channel for example, when there is no signal from an external device, instead of the screen being plain black it's a very dark grey with black lines down it. ANy ideas PLEASE!? I've tried every possible setting in the 'Service Menu' but no avail. Tho it did nearly sort out my problem of having a 'wonky' picture. Being higher on the right side, than on the left. Any ideas on this would be great too. Thank you to all.

This may seem a cheeky question, but why are you worried about what you see when there is no input signal ? If there is nothing connected then I think you can expect any weird effects.
Do you see similar problems when there is a signal ? If so which AV channel do you get the effects on and what is the input source?

Thanks for your response. Yeah I guess your right. It's just it's been like it since it was new, since I've owned it I've never known any one elses TV to do it. The picture is otherwise pristine apart from the height difference from left to right of the screen. Ta anyhow.
