They must realise when making this type of program that we're all going to point and laugh 5 or 10 years down the line.
It reminded me of the Microsoft Video with ?Paul Allen? going mad about Windows 3.0
Edit: I could probably build that machine with the parts scattered around me pad. :D
Only $4500 for the system (which they thought was resonable)
But an extra $5000 for the monitor if you wanted that baby!
Wow! Think it'll play HL2 OK? ;)

That's what *I* had in April '98! A Pentium II 300, SB 64, 3DFX SLI, 128MB of RAM, god. And that doesn't sound too unlike the cost, either. It was a HUGE tower.
Wow 128 Meg of ram what next.
:luv:
That is one beast of a machine!

I think I still have my old PII 333, Voodoo II SLI, 128MB ram somewhere in storage. May have to dig it out again.
i remember being very jealous when my mate got 2 12mb voodoo2's in SLI on a PII 300(compared to my 1 8mb voodoo2 on a p233mmx)
Unreal looked amazing.

Wow, I remember some of those ads, and bought some of the machines too!
Saw a C64 system at the car boot the other week and was tempted, but have nowhere to put it, so there it stayed.

Great Stuff....
And so it began. But where will it end, and how much will countries TRY to control it in time.
Let's hope they never do.
Plextor SCSI CD-ROM! The only bit of kit from that era that I have in active use - still one of the best drives you can get for ripping CDs.
Can't have been long after that piece that the Celeron 300A came along, NVidia released their Riva TNT line and fast gaming PCs became very affordable.
