If you would like to meet like minded forunites for a group gathering with a chance to compare each others equipment.

following on from THIS (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=387029) thread the suggestion was for a workshop/meet maybe with the hire of models or maybe a landscape themed meet.
If you would like to sign up and have any ideas and/or any suggestions for location or event put it foward here and then we can organize something.

I'm up for that - happy to travel North East / North West and Borders

If people want to do the Lakes I'm happy to provide a base in Cumbria (near Penrith J40/M6).

Yep John I'm up for that. Ideas are North Yorkshire moors, falconry center, Blackpool Illuminations or motorsport event. The latter we may have missed the season.

I'm up for that especially if it's this Saturday.

Otherwise forget it - I'm an ex-pat northerner who only gets up there every so often.

Oh might have to check out the fireworks tomorrow myself. Will have to check with the wife as she's not to keen on them following a rouge one hitting her on the back of the head on our engagement night.

Affected her judgement a bit, did it? :D

Are you chaps planning on doing this in October?

I'm off up to Stirling and then down to Arran first weekend of November so if anything's going on around then, I might be interested.

Im game depending on where (read: how far) this is from me, and obviously the timing, and more importantly, with me being tighter than cramp....how much it's gonna cost me ;)
Can't justify spending huge entrance fees now I'm saving up to post the wife abroad next year :p

What PC_Bod said. Plus, I don't think I could do falconry centre or anything, I only have a compact camera :) Landscapes I can do! :p

OK I've had enough of silence. I'm OK for 15/16 Oct and every alternative weekend after that.

I'd quite fancy a landscape session around the lakes somewhere, any ideas SSB ?

We need to start putting together some more detailed photo shoot location suggestions and possible dates or will soon be into Christmas and the weather will get even more unpredictable.

Come on guys suggest away =========>

I can do most weekends not the 16th or WE of the 29th

PC_Bod
27-09-2005, 18:49
Can do most weekends (wife allowing and family permitting of course), but the lakes may be too far for me. :)
Don't want that to sway a decision of course, especially if most are geared up for the lakes. Just making it known :)

I'm sure if you can get part way there car sharing can be arranged. I for eg live only a mile from the M6 and am happy to drive if people want to leave there car at my house.

PC_Bod
27-09-2005, 20:26
It's not that it's too far, I'm just not comfortable driving excessively long distances with no breakdown cover...lol

johndavis0
27-09-2005, 23:33
I think that I can make that week end
As wseed says if any one wants to be driven in style, I don't mind driving

Being in the Birmingham area the Lakes are a bit too far for a one dayer really, It's a fantastic location though so I would imagine those who do manage to go will have a great day.

Well, we can put up folk if they want to more than a day of it and they have to travel. We've got 3 spare beds, or 5, counting air-beds.

Obviously this offer doesn't apply to any old stinky forum wierdo. Darren A is of course a special case. :D

I'm still interested but I'm worried that, at this time of year particularly, the success of the day will be entirely dependent on the weather if we are shooting outdoors.

It is nice around here but not spectacular. However, if Mr Sun doesn't come out, there's not much point in getting the camera out. I'm worried that several people may make long journeys for nothing.

We would really need an indoor venue as a fall back and I can't think of any where I live.

Crouching Tiger
17-10-2005, 20:12
I guess my comments killed this meet. Sorry, that wasn't my intention. :(

I just felt as though I would have been responsible for 'entertaining' a bunch of Forum members if Mr Sun didn't show. As it happens, I don't remember it being particularly good on Saturday but Sunday was a cracker. :brickwall

How about next weekend or the weekend after, although I am supposed to be on cover next weekend. :suspect:

Anyway let me know :)

I'm around this coming weekend. Although I was thinking of nipping to Carlisle as there's a Mini-Display thing on at the local Mini dealership.
