How do. We are getting another laptop for the house and now have a couple of desktop PCs and a couple of laptops. We also have a printer connected to the desktop PC. Would basically like to create a simple Wireless network.

We don't have an ADSL connection or any other networking kit and having read up on the bargin thread router/adsl modem combo from netgear I get the impression that an existing network card and an adsl connection are a requirement.

Is there a simple way or any advice on the kit I need. Basically just want a network for file and print sharing with the occasional game played across it.

You wouldn't need the router/modem.
A couple of 11g PCI cards for the desktops and a couple of 11g PCMCIA/Cardbus cards for the laptops will be about £80 all in from PC World. They might even have the Buffalo kit even cheaper.
Then set up an "ad hoc" network with File and Printer sharing and share some folders.
Plenty tutorials out there on that stuff.

Sorry should have made it a bit clearer. We might be looking at getting ADSL eventually so that was why I was thinking of the one in the bargin section. However I downloaded the manual off netgear's site and it seemed to give the impression that an exisiting ADSL connection was a MUST along with an exisiting network - as I say for the time being we just want a basic network with the option to expand.

Edit

Sorry, obviously the two laptops we have at present have a network card each in them. I am presuming that the cable between the network card the wireless router is not needed all the time (just for setting up and confirguring etc).
