I believe that is in the PS2 and XBox versions also.

It could make for some interesting pairings :)

COnsidering Konami love there direct ip rubbish any chances this can only work with two machines online ie you need two people on each pc to play a 4 player match not 4 people on 4 diffrent machines.......

Due for release in October, online play has been high on the agenda of the series' many fans and Producer Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka has delivered in the game's newest incarnation. Already regarded as the definitive footballing simulation, the PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC-DVD versions of Pro Evolution Soccer 5 will all offer full online play for up to four players simultaneously, while the PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable) game, which will be released shortly after, will feature wireless connectivity for multi-player action.

The PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC-DVD versions will allow matches against either one or two-players, and will also facilitate leagues between friends from all over the world. "We are delighted that Pro Evolution Soccer 5 is heading online," commented Hans-Joachim Amann, Head of Product Management for Konami of Europe. "Sports games are ideal online fare, and we have worked hard to ensure that the skill and playability of Pro Evolution Soccer 5 have not been compromised in its multi-player online modes."

Sounds interesting :)

Who would decide on the formations etc? Seems a bit random on how it would work?

john316
22-09-2005, 19:31
Maybe practice together first and work out a formation? ;)

But that would involve co-operation!

Certainly would allow some of us lesser PES mortals to learn from the better players in terms of tactics/formations etc.

:)

(Really should go order it now)

Reading the PES5 PS2 manual, it sounds more like 2 players can play online through 1 machine, rather than 2 players co-operating on 2 different machines. Can anyone clear this up?

Konami announcing a feature, and then when it arrives it isn't quite what everyone really wanted? Nah! surely not again!

I bet money on the PC version being the same...think of the trouble they had with the net-code for 2 machines, then imagine the head-scratching they must have done over how to get 4 machines existing together

The xbox version is out now, so that might help clear it up.

Bloody hell PES games are getting leaked earlier and earlier each year.
