 Jam sandwiches, nylon shirts, bad hair, power cuts and only three
types of ice cream - weren’t the 70s great? Yes, they blummin’ well were and
here’s one of the TV-tastic reasons why. The original Tomorrow People
is being released on DVD 19/2. Tomorrow People - Slaves of Jedikiah (http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=R2&title=98659) is the first release and has commentary from the three principals
and features all five episodes!! Play have it for just £11.99.
Next to Dr Who, this show had the best theme tune and opening titles
- both composed by Ron Grainer incidentally.</center>

Now THAT's a surprise, and a great chiristmas present! While very good, and popular in it's time it's a fairly obscure series to get a release. Since the original screening I've only seen the series once when I managed to get hold of all the episodes from the US and Auistralia, not original tapes, really awful TV recordings!

Thanks for the heads up!

Deaks.

Next to Dr Who, this show had the best theme tune and opening titles both composed by Ron Grainer incidentally.

This is great news (pity the first story is so pap)
but I must correct a common misconception:
Dudley Simpson wrote the theme music for the Tomorrow People, not Ron Grainer.

The confusion probably arises because Dudley wrote most of the incidental music for Doctor Who in the seventies.

He also wrote the theme for Blake's seven. :D

Oops - my bad. Apologies to Ron and Dudley. Is Dudley still alive or has he too joined Ron Grainer in the great beyond?

As far as I know, Dudley is still alive and now lives in Australia.

p.s. - cool animated gif in the first post, BTW.

Found a site HERE (http://www.cyhaus.com/tp/) that covers both the original series and 90's sequel. The episode guide is pretty good. Anyone know who holds the rights or is releasing the disk so that we can start pestering for the rest?
