I have a couple of 3rd party batteries for my 10D BP511 compatible. Same as D60, D30, 20D, 300D and some of the powershot series. These 3rd party batteries have now begun to stop keeping good charge and report as charged after only a fraction of the time needed.

Has anyone any recommendations of good batteries? I want to buy 3 so canon ones at £40+ are out of the question. Should I just pick a random cheap supplier and hope they are OK or that they are only going to last a couple of years or so or go for a branded 3rd party brand like uniross.

I got an energiser battery for the D70 from a company called pentupenergy.co.uk (http://pentupenergy.co.uk/) for about £18. quick delivery too. I havnt had a chance to test its performance yet though.

Thanks, will consider them I figure you can't go wrong with energizer but they are still about 3x the price of no brand ones.

When I had my G3 I got my compatible BP-511's (same batt as 10D) from 7DayShop (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php^QS^mid=530^QA^gid=6083^QA^id=30372). Never found them to be better or worse than Canons own offering.

Now I have a 350D I have just bought a compatible NB-2LH, but the 750mAH version. (as opposed to canons 560mAh offering, and the 450mAH that it stated in the ad), from eBay (http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-582776-5826355)

Cost me 7.99 inc P&P (which was 4 quid recorded I think).
Googolpower was the user/company.

Thanks for the further info. Does anyone know the difference between the 2 types they sell on the 7dayshop batteries (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php^QS^mid=530^QA^gid=6083^QA^id=30372^QA^p=http%3A//www.7dayshop.com/catalog/default.php%3FcPath%3D777_4_405) I know 1 is 1500mah and the other 1200 but they are both the same price. Will they both work in a 10D battery grip?

either would do, mate.

i went for the 1200, as it stated 300D in the description.

i use two in my bg-e1 grip, so you'll have no problems.

I think I'll go with those then thanks I've seen some reports of some not fitting the grips I think they were BP512 compatibles.
