I've never been to the Revival before (been to the Festival of Speed a few times) but I thought it might be a laugh and a challenge to try and capture shots that could be monchromed and end up with some that looked like they were taken 50 years ago.

For those of you who don't know, the Revival celebrates the period when Goodwood was used for racing - 1948-1966. Not only are period vehicles raced, but the drivers and staff are in relevant costumes and the visitors are encouraged to as well, to try and recreate the look and feel of the time. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of people who make the effort  (I happened to have a black high button jacket kicking around and a white polo neck from ski-ing. Voilá, early 60s :D).

The final set of 28 are here (http://www.badgersnaps.com/v/sport/motorsport/goodwoodrevival05/) but some of my favourites :

(Spitfires, Mustangs and various other aircraft put on mini displays between races)

REALLY chuffed with this one :

Good stuff.

Much prefer Revival myself. Far better atmosphere and the racing is more enjoyable as it actually involves racing around a proper race track. I find Festival of Speed a bit dull. The efforts they make to get the period feel is quite admirable, even from the public (and those in obviously modern dress stick out a mile :D). It really does make you feel you are back in the 50s. Even the food is like it was back then .

Anyone particularly well known spotted? I know Rowan Atkinson often enters a race (this (http://www.sirjohn.co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-1340) was him apparently from last year, not that you can see him :D).

I didn't, no. Well not "non-racing" if you see what I mean - Wayne Gardner won the Barry Sheene Memorial Race and Tiff Needell was racing in the TT Auto Club Celebration.

Great pictures! One minor critiscm of the one you're really chuffed with - the UniSys ad hoarding really spoils the period feel for me.

Always another pair of eyes innit...

Never saw that :D

Might cheat there and doctor it into something else.

I would! It could have been taken 40 years ago if you did :)

Edit: I really like the Mod's & Scooters shot as well.

Edit 2: I really like the colour shot of the woman & poodle but while you've got PS open I'd remove the fluro stripes in the background ;)

Done and done :D

Removed the hoardings totally as I'm not sure Rolex existed either and the Sunday Times "Drive 2005" thing certainly didn't :D

Really good action shots there. Very impressive.

My favourite out of those posted here is the first image.
I also like the colour one of the ladies and the lady with the blue hat poking out her tongue.

You should have just changed the UNISYS word to Burroughs for that authentic time period flavour :dork:

Great pictures GJ!
