I’m assuming they just missed off a "1" before (6:9). Anyone have this? Can’t seem to translate werktagen - does it mean weeks?

Working days.

Shame shipping from Germany is relatively high or I would have already bought their 2-disc edition of The Fifth Element too. Maybe I could ask my friend in Germany to order them for me and send them over free via BFPO? Now there's an idea. :)

Hmmm, might be worth seeking out actually. It's the same cover as the remastered R1, although that was a snapper. Can't speak German so I'm not 100% sure what those specs mean exactly. Is the Dolby encoded track dubbed in German and the English one only in stereo?.

Also, does anyone know for sure that it's anamorphic as I wouldn't dream of taking Amazon's word for that (especially with a typo!).

Hendrik over at DVDTalk kindly provided this link (http://dvd-station.de/product_body.asp?pf%5Fid=30551) which confirms that it is anamorphic. Damned if I can find a reasonable price on this anywhere though. Amazon.de’s shipping is criminally expensive so if anyone knows where to pick this up for £15 shipped LMK.

Not quite sure what to make of this Babel’d review:

Flash Gordon is probably one the Science Fiction Klassicer at all. The strip is actually total garbage however mega Kultig. Alone the funny Filmmusick of Queen power brings the film already to the total cult status. However I saw the film only in the TV (always at Easter) it am nevertheless must for each cult film collecting tank. The DVD should not be so good, which concerns the picture the tone the extras and the remainder, but it goes even if one the strips each year (Easter) in the TV regards. Flash is nevertheless the ultimative rescuer and hero of the universe

Thanks for that link jonathan.e/Hendrik. So, it definitely has a Dolby 2.0 English track and an anamorphic 2.35:1 (the OAR) print. An amaray case aswell for anyone superficial enough to care about such things (which includes me!). That page was pretty informative anyway, unlike:-

A bit puzzling that I thought! It reminds me of when Henry Rollins reads out letters he's been sent from clearly uni-lingual Polish fans (purely for comic effect obviously). The actual meaning of the sentences is lost along with the flow isn't it!.

Do they like the film or not? is the DVD decent or not? I didn't glean either of those things from that passage. In any case, I'll probably be buying this new release of Flash Gordon myself, as my R1 copy hasn't been watched too often (a combination of unflexible W/S telly and the 2.35:1 non-anam status seriously dampening the appeal). I'm certainly looking forward to getting an improved version of it though. I mean, it is "a must for each cult film collecting tank" after all(!).
