Getting this for a Chrimbo Prezzie for someone. :)

Which region is best ?

Heard that the UK is PG and cut, but the US version is a PG13, and has all the bits intact.

Also, do both of them have the deleted scenes, as i cannot confirm this anywhere.

Rewind seems to be a bit iffy right now, so any help would be most spendid.

Many thanks in advance. :)

R4 is the best: it's uncut and anamorphic.

R1 is uncut but non-anamorphic.
R2 is cut but anamorphic.

Extras are the same on all 3 regions:

- Audio commentary by Chris Columbus
- 30 mins of deleted scenes
- On-camera interviews
- Chuck Jones interview
- Make-up behind-the-scenes
- Animation pencil test
- Finished animation
- Theatrical trailers & TV spot

- Dolby Surround and Dolby Digital 5.0
- 2.35:1 aspect ratio

Are you absolutely sure that the R4 is uncut?

95% sure. I haven't seen the R4 version myself, but I did ask around quite a bit before buying mine, but at that time my player was only configured for R1, so that's what I ended up buying. Believe me, the picture quality is pretty naff.

Sorry if this ends up being duff advice ;), but I am pretty certain than R4 is uncut.

As far as I know, the edit is the removal of the "rumple foreskin" line.

According to Rewind (http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=829) the Region 4 is also cut. I do want to get this on DVD, and it would appear the German R2 is the one to go for, unless a re-released R1 is on the horizon?

:help:

I'd totally forgotten about this thread -- well, it's been three years after all. You're right, the R4 is indeed cut. I actually went and bought it based on Rewind's recommendation (at the time, the site said the R4 was uncut) and pawned off my R1, only to discover that the R4 disc was identical to the UK release. Damn.

Not as surprised as me.

I ended up getting the R1, as it was cheaper at the time.

Cheers. :)
