Real player trying to connect ???

Hello all,

I've just started using Sygate personal Firewall which i have set to normal.....but every now and then a little warning box pops up saying " an application called Realplayer (which i have installed ) is trying to connect " ...what is realplayer trying to do ??? :shrug:

It's most probably trying to check for program updates. I believe you can turn this function off in the RealPlayer options.

Better still, uninstall it and burn the computer as a precaution, because RealPlayer is the work of Satan.

You can disable the auto updates in the settings. You might have also unknowingly allowed it to give you news alerts on your desktop, or clip of the day, and other such pointless rubbish depending what version you got.

While you are there, you might want to disable the equally crap real jukebox, real download, spinner.... the worst program Ive ever installed or even seen, shame I need it for some files I play.

Cheers guys.....i did have auto update ON but have now switched it off . :thumbs:

i would prolly get rid of it but i need it for MLB.TV which uses it as its LIVE streaming player ... :doh: oh well ....

go through realplayers options and turn EVERYTHING off. Makes no difference to functionality.
