They are bringing out a second B-sides album next year (so says Noel), won't be a patch on The Masterplan but there's some good uns...

I'd recommend Let's All Make Believe, Idler's Dream, Pass Me Down the Wine, Eyeball Tickler and I Can See It Now (TUNEEEEEEEEEE)

In the days before The Masterplan i bought an Oasis bootleg called the 'Blue Album' which had the b-sides from all the Morning Glory singles plus the then vinyl-only Boneheads Bankholiday. I also had the one for the Definitely Maybe singles.

It still is one of my favourite and most played albums. Rockin Chair and Half the World away were my faves.

My favourites are Acquiesce (Some Might Say), Half the World Away (Whatever) and Slide Away (I know it was on Definately Maybe but was also a B side on Whatever).

I absolutely love "Listen Up", b/s to Cigs and Alcohol, in fact, I was only listening to it an hour ago, funnily enough, when all this nostalgia in the air for britpop got me making a compliation CD.

my favourite was Alive, either from Supersonic or Shakermaker I think. Criminal it didn't make the Masterplan album

The whole of the Some Might Say and Wonderwall singles are superb, with their respective B-sides. I do like Acquiesce, Round Are Way, The Swamp Song.

I also love their cover of I Am The Walrus on the B side of Tabs & Tinnies.

The problem with the 'I am the Walrus' cover they use it that for one, it isn't technically a live version. It was actually performed for Sony before they had a record deal, and the crowd noise was added in after. Anyone who's seen them live can tell you that pretty much any other live version they did blows that one out of the water.

Also, in case you didn't know. There's another album of B-Sides coming out next year. Sadly though it's from the 'Be Here Now' singles onwards...and the pickings are slim I think. Sure there are some great great tunes there (Particulary the ones from the Lyla single). But I would much rather some rarities as well, seeing as Oasis have managed some great demos over the years (If you can, track down the demos for 'Heathen Chemistry', they are much better than the album versions).

If anything though, 'Sad Song' deserves to be on there. The fact that it wasn't included in 'The Masterplan' is a travesty.

What's with this Aquiescence? :p

Is it some nu-goth metal/britpop remix i should be aware of?

Another vote for Acquiesce, Talk Tonight, Stay Young, Half the World Away, Rockin Chair and the Masterplan. Recently I made up my own cd of personal oasis b-sides and it is brilliant. Most are too good to be b's.

I remember first seeing them perform Acquiesce, on The White Room, before they even released Some Might Say and I was blown away. Couldn't believe it wasn't a single in it's own right.
My other fave is It's Good To Be Free ...... Worth it just to hear Liam sing The little things they make me so happy / All I wanna do is live by the sea
