Sopranos S3 DVDs

I've just purchased this boxset and it has wierded me out a bit. Is the first disc supposed to be double-sided?

I only ask because the rest of the disc aren't and it just doesn't seem right.

Yeah, one of the discs is a flipper. It's really irritating, especially with the spine not matching the other seasons.

I agree about the spine too. I need to have a level of consistency in my collection and Sopranos S3 just doesn't give me that. :D

Also, when watching the second episode (?) was it just me or was Tony's mum's head not sitting right on her body? What was up with that?

That was because the actress died and they had to use existing footage and FX to cheat the scene.

The floating head thing is odd, it looks smaller than it should. I find the whole scene weird and creepy. I'm just glad I imported the american release, the gold box is a bit gaudy but at least it doesn't have a flipper, and the logos match with the other seasons.

Watched episode 2 last night and thought the same thing.I only looked here to check to see what had happened.Thought she must have died or something.
If you watch the lighting on her face,it changes from what looks like the sun coming from the left to going to her right side.

if there was one person who could break tony down over the five seasons then it was his mother, She was without doubt the star of the first season and some of the second and was greatly missed in the third although they just seem to replace one good charactar with another. I have just watched the episode where tony is thinking back to his childhood and livia threatens to put a fork in his eye because tony is bugging her while she is cooking dinner. Genius

I hated Livia. What a horrible character. When Tony described her as a "miserable ****" he was not wrong. Shes the one character i don't miss from the show.

I agree Simon - I hated Livia. She was a twisted old *****!

That said I hated Ralph Cifareto (sp?) when I first watched him. He's now one of my fav "bad guys"! :thumbs:

I saw a newly packaged Season Three in HMV the other day - matching up to the other seasons but looking more like 5 (what with the Irish rating on the outside too) - maybe this has removed the problem?

I started watching season 3 boxset last weekend and yes, it just doesn't seem at all right
