Here is the Dansai hack:

open the disc tray.
press "set-up" on remote control.
Then on the player press "stop" , "previous"," next".

up pops a factory set up menu where you can set the region (just select bypass) and you can turn macrovision off too.

Works a treat ;)
Mine played region 1 Hollow man (supposed to be RCE ) when set in region bypass mode.
