Hi all, I wonder if anyone would be willing to do me a favour. I got a A64 3200 winnie, 1 gb ram, MSI 6600 GT card and I am trying to diagnose a hardware problem or in-game effect.

Could anyone with Lego Star Wars with a shader 3.0 card, probably 6600 or 6800, do me a favour and play the pod racing level on the phantom menace chapter, and let me know if when racing around the lap, when you get to certain points at the level do you notice a significant drop in brightness as the part goes dark, then back light.

It does this on mine at the same point every lap, I would say in-game effect, but it is very noticable and when I tried the game on my XP2400, FX 5900xt machine, there is no drop in brightness levels.

Have tried all drivers from 66.93 to 77.77 and all give the same effect. If someone could do this for me I would be greatful, as I can get it sorted then if it is the card. Thanks in advance.

Anthony

Just tried it on my 6800GT using 77.72 drivers and had the same thing - drops in light levels across the entire screen when the pod flys through shadowy areas. It is most noticeable to me between the last checkpoint and the finish line.

It might just be a 'feature' of more recent Nvidia cards.

Yes that's the effect. Thanks for that any M8, that was much appreciated you taking the time to play the level. Must be due to the shaders used by newer cards. Thanks again.

I was going to say, last time I did the pod race level, I had a ti4200. I've got a 6800GT now, so I'll give it a go as well, and post up my driver version if I get a better result.
