RCE disks how to identify ?

Need to find a RCE DVD to test the Sony DVD player I've just got

How are these RCE disks identified ?

What DVDs are there at the moment that are RCE coded ?

set your player to region 2, then put in the suspect disc.. if a region map comes up it's an RCE disc.

Final Fantasy R1 is one example.

Hollow Man are all RCE discs.
If you check on the play247 site they list which ones are RCE.

Thanks toot - so I'll know if the dvd won't work with an rce dvd if the region map pops up - ( let's hope it doesn't :D )

i think you've misunderstood slightly.. :) you won't find any RCE discs at a local shop or blockbusters.. only some american Region 1 discs are coded with RCE protection so far, to try and stop them working on multi-region machines.

so the UK versions of these discs will work fine, but the R1 editions won't if your player can't change region manually or can't detect RCE.

it doesn't say on the packaging either.

I thought I'd heard that RCE disks were all R1, but I wasn't sure
I have a friend whose always buying R1 disks, I'll see if he's got any on the list

End Of Days does not have RCE, as its universal + i have a tosiba 100 E so any RCE disks would not work.

Looks like RCE compatibilty won't be that much of an issue
It would just be nice if the Sony could manage them
It's a Christmas present for the brother-in-law from my sister
