It depends very much on your needs.

How big a TV do you want? This depends on how much space you have and how far away you'll be sitting.

Do you want 100Hz or 50Hz. I'm not familiar with prices just now but 100Hz adds quite a chuck to the cost. If you don't know which, you need to go to a home cinema shop to see them in action side by side.

Are you going to have an external Amplifier for them surround sound needs or do you want DD or Pro-Logic built in? Remember, if you're using an external AMP, you just need a Nicam Stereo TV, nothing more. This can save money there to afford a better picture.

Is pureflat screen important? Don't know? Then go and have a look.

What are you going to connect to it? Does, for example your DVD player only output pure NTSC from American DVDs? If in doubt, test it.

Some ideas about where to start. It's not a one-size fits all question.
