Hiya

I'm after advice, I have been thinking for a while of investing in a laptop and have decided to go with Dell. I have found a machine on their site which suits my needs, an Inspiron 6000 Celeron M 360 768Mb Ram, 8x DVD RW, 60Gb drive 15.4WS (1680x1050) with free printer for £607.

I'm wondering whether to go for this or be patient and see if another bargain is around the corner (this offer ends 17th August)

I have looked at the Dell outlet but haven't seen anything that really grabs me over this.

Any idea's or advice would be great, and I would prefer to spend nearer the £500 mark if poss. This laptop would not be used for gaming, just browsing and apps over my wireless connection.

do a search in the baragin forum for dell and you will see what stuff comes up. They had this AND a desktop for this price a few weeks back. Also, do a search in the computer forum as you will see what others have gotten. Do a few hours research and you will understand how to get a very good deal. good luck.

Many thanks Coolio, I obviously hadn't searched hard enough :) . I had read the recent threads which is pretty much how I have found the system I am considering. I'll carry on

This is scary!

I just got off the phone to our friendly Dell sales rep for (almost) exactly the same laptop because of the extra ram. I went for the 1280 x 800 screen

I managed to get it down to £552 delivered (I didn't want the cheapo printer).

Looks a very good deal to me and was told that I had until 9pm tomorrow to order it before the next "unknown" offer kicks in instead.
