Universal City, Calif., December 5, 2001 — Get ready for a big juicy slice of American Pie 2, this year's $146 million-grossing cutting edge comedy, which will be served up on January 15, 2002. The Collector's Edition DVD will be available in both rated and unrated formats, with each version available in both full-frame and widescreen aspect ratios, and as a VHS rental from Universal Studios Home Video. The DVD will sell for the suggested retail price of $26.98. Also available will be a 2-pack which combines the unrated American Pie and the unrated American Pie 2, priced at $49.98 SRP. Order close is December 11 for DVD and December 18 for VHS.
Bigger than the original American Pie in every way, American Pie 2 outperformed the first film at the box office, a feat rarely achieved by sequels. Universal Studios Home Video also looks for the American Pie 2 video and DVD to follow in the footsteps of their originals: American Pie still ranks as one of the best-ever performing comedies.
The unrated American Pie 2 has been re-edited to include scenes never before seen by the public. Both versions of the American Pie 2 DVD will feature 10 hours of in-your-face entertainment including: a Jason Biggs faux public service announcement warning consumers of the dangers of confusing lubricant with Ultra-Glue; home video footage shot by the stars on the behind-the-scenes craziness of the making of American Pie 2; never-before-seen casting tapes from the original American Pie auditions; an industry-first American Pie Poll where consumers voted on MSN.com for their favorite American Pie and American Pie 2 scenes and a brand new "Universal Access" DVD-ROM feature which allows consumers the opportunity to access never-before-seen clips from their favorite films.

Synopsis
Jim (Biggs), still your average healthy red-blooded American male, returns from his freshman year of college and reunites with his pals Stifler (Scott), Oz (Klein), Kevin (Nicholas) and Finch (Thomas) at a rented beach house for a summer of sexual misadventures. Knowing that Czech beauty Nadia (Elizabeth) is also coming to visit, Jim turns desperately to his high school prom date Michelle (Hannigan) for sexual advice. Meanwhile, Stifler remains his badly-behaved self; Oz is trying to cope with his girlfriend spending a summer abroad; Kevin struggles with his feelings for his former girlfriend and Finch still yearns for Stifler's mom. Through one boisterous summer of ear-splitting parties, embarrassing mishaps, outrageous revelations — and, yes, an actual trip to band camp! — the gang discovers that times change, people change, but in the end, it's all about sticking together.
American Pie 2 also reunites the original creative team of "American Pie" with Paul Weitz, Chris Weitz and Adam Herz returning as executive producers and Warren Zide, Craig Perry and Chris Moore producing the film. J.B. Rogers directed American Pie 2 from a screenplay by Herz, with a story by David H. Steinberg and Herz.
