I hope this is in the right spot.

I had no idea which forum might be the right one for my questions.

# 1) What is the original language spoken in the film ?
I couldn't find anything but a couple of reviews in french of the film, and they didn't address that question.
I hate dub-ed soundtracks, and I want to make sure that, when I finally get around to seeing the film, that I'm seeing/hearing it the way it was intended.

# 2) Has anyone seen the dvd of said film ?
How's the quality (both audio- and video-wise) of it ?
Are the subtitles removeable ?

# 3) I'm interested in tracking down the film because I'm a big Jean Reno fan. Has anyone seen the film, and, if so, what did you think of it ?

Thanks in advance,
(P.S. I only come into this site once in a blue moon.
Why is the "search"-function disabled ?
How long will it remain so ?)

...DVD-5, anamorphic 1.85:1, optional French DD 5.1 or English dub DD 5.1, optional English or French subtitles, Amaray keepcase, no extras, except for a trailer...

...the movie itself is ok (it's a Francis Veber-written/directed concoction, if that means anything to you...), the DVD is ok, too...

Hey,

I've got the DVD. The film is a comedy about an Amazon 'Shaman' who visits France and the adventures that follow. I enjoyed it. Transfer quality was fine.

It's a Veber film along the lines of Le Diner De Cons and Le Placard(very good fun BTW - worth picking up) so that you know what to expect.

Anthony.

Hendrik and zazzx:

Thank you ! That's what I was looking for.

One more follow-up question:

optional French DD 5.1 or English dub DD 5.1

So the original language in the film, then, is French ?

And out of curiousity, what is the quality of the dub and, by any chance, did the actors provide the voices for the dub ?

Thanks again !
M.M.

...well... the original version stars a very popular French actor and a very popular French singer/actor, the writer/director is French, too... so, yes, the original language is French... don't know how the dub sounds, nor whether the original actors dubbed their own parts... I buy French movies because they are French...

...personally, I would never listen to a dubbed version of any movie when subtitles in a language I understand are available, unless I had to (e.g. all of Fellini's movies, or something like Cinema Paradiso, say)...

...he said, feeling fortunate that - besides his native Dutch - he understands written and spoken English, French and German...
