hi guys,
is there anyway of finding out if someone has blocked you on msn? Also can you still send an email to their email address if its the same as their msn name (i.e joe.bloggs@hotmail.com), or will your email get blocked too?
thanks guys

You used to be able to get block checker apps that would tell you who was blocking you on Messenger but MS plugged the loophole that allowed these things to work so, no there's no longer any reliable way of distinguishing whether someone is blocking you or is simply offline.
Blocking on Messenger won't block you sending email to their hotmail account.
you can check if they are online here, basicly this will tell you if the other person is online or not, if it says he is on and hes not on your msn then obviously they blocked you

No longer works. Says I'm offline but I'm not.
[edit] Should say no longer works reliably. Just tried it on a few mates some online, some offline and it seems to be random as to whether it picks up who's online and who isn't. It even flagged a couple of people as online when they're not.

Lol looks like their site is cack as you need to know if the persons online first  surely if you knew they were online and they showed as offline to you, you are blocked? :D
Before you start posting, here's a list of reason why certain things will happen when using Triople Block Checker.
I know my friend is online and blocked me but it says he/she is offline. Is this wrong?
No. If you know for a fact that they are online and Triople returns offline then they have the 'Only People on my Allow List can see my status and send me messages' If you fail to adhere to this rule, you maybe banned on the spot as we get this question so often and are tired of people not reading previous threads.
^^from the support forum for that site
Sign up a new MSN acount and randomly try talking to the person (something quite innocent - a question) you think might have blocked you. If you get a reply (to which you go, err sorry wrong person) then you know they're online...

Wished she hadn't as he started saying what a useless slapper she was etc etc,

doesn't it show in the "who has added you to their MSN" list? ie if that person has blocked you, it would show there.
Well i think it may, I have a few people i block from time to time when i can;t be bothered to talk to them. But emails from them still get through fine.
you can tell jsut by using MSN itself.
Tools->Options->Privacy
On your allow list are all the people on your contact list. Right click a name, if Delete is selectable and their name isnt on the View button list then that means youve been removed from that persons list and blocked.
It should mean you cant send messages to them as well but ive no idea if that works or not.

but thats if you delete them as well, as opposed to simply block them.
Surely blocking should not be obvious to the other person, else its a pretty silly system isn't it if they know.
If you delete them then they wont be there on your list to right click and see if Delete is available or not, if you see what i mean :D
It seems sensible to me, if they have removed you from their list and blocked you then theres no reason for them to be on your list and so the Delete option becomes available in that screen.
If you just delete and block someone off the Main screen all that does is move them onto your blocked list in Tools->Options->Privacy. Theyre still there. Its when they block you as well that you can then use the proper delete option and remove them completely.
Ive got 6 names on my blocked list right now but i cant actually physically remove the name yet cause they must still have me on their list.
It is a bit confusing tbh, MS could of implemented a better admin system really.
I dont think its silly, if i was blocked by soemone id like to know so i can stop wasting time trying to get hold of them.

But if you blocked someone and they could find out you'd blocked them, it would defeat the purpose of blocking... ;)

exactly.
I want to be online without certain people chatting to me all the time, whereas i still want my folks to be able to say hi.
With the new account, won't they just not accept invites from strangers? i generally do not accept unless i KNOW who the person is.

doesnt work as they also have to accept your invitation to allow you to see them online.
